Get It Cheaper??

Hey, here's the specs I'm planning to get for my 9100. I'll probably be ordering it tonight. VVV

2.8GHz, 15.4-in. WSXGA+
XP Professional
256MB DDR 400MHz 2 DIMMs
256MB DDR ATI's MOBILITY™ RADEON™ 9800
Hard Drive 60GB
24X CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive
Dell® Wireless 1350 Internal Wireless
Microsoft® Works Suite
1 Year Limited Warranty plus 1 Year Mail-In Service
Combo: Microsoft® Plus! for Windows XP and Digital Media Edition
300 Bluetooth Internal Card
Dell Media Experience™ Deluxe

TOTAL: $1,847.05
Plus a little over $200 for 1GB Memory from newegg.com

Total: about $2,100.00

Well, I'm supposed to stay under $2000 dollars! Do you think I could talk the people at dell down to a lower price. Maybe mention the fact that it isn't fair that the desktops have a 20% coupon. I don't know exactly how to do it. Any advice would be appreciated and maybe some advice on my specs? Thanks!

You could drop the Microsoft plus and Digital media edition. I have them both and they are useless. The caused some problems with my computer.

I guess I could take off the Microsoft plus and digital thing and just be a little pirate and download them! As for the Memory, I don't think it would be smart to run a 256mb video card and not have a gig of memory, it just doesn't sound like it would work so well. I probably don't need bluetooth, but I don't know if I want to get it later and it's not that expensive anyway.

Do those little USB Bluetooth things to the same thing as your internal bluetooth? If so there like 20bux I think...

Yes the external bluetooth adapters for example Logitech MX desktop for bluetooth does the exact same thing as the internal card would do, act as a hub.

I forgot to order the bluetooth card with my XPS so I bought it from Dell Spare Parts for $24.95 USD + $8.00 shipping. That's about $10.00 less than ordering it with the system. It has worked flawlessly.

did you read my guide?

there is a link to it in the Dell FAQ at the top of the dell general section

Maybe on July 11th I did, but it since went into the recycle bin. It does not discuss buying the bluetooth. This post of yours on July 2nd does. You paid $5.00 more than me...????

I am sooo glad the New Hampshire does not have a sales tax.
