My 2720 Review

Well, I've been using my 2720 for over a week now.

My impressions so far:

- The fan is a bit loud, and it gets even louder when i play a game and things get REALLY hot. But overall I don't mind (i wonder if it's the same way with other higher end Sagers).

- The shared video was a concern at first. But seeing as I don't plan on playing games on it very much at all its not bad. The SiS 650 allows me to watch high quality video (movie trailers, etc) very well and seems to move very fast. I did install Unreal Tournament and Ghost Recon. Both run very well at 1024x768x16. UT runs a bit faster as its a bit older, but looks great. But like I said they are both rarely used.

- The overall quality of the notebook itself is good. It seems like a sturdy build, although they keyboard isn't as good as I had hoped, and the power button(s) seems a bit cheesy.

- The picture is great !! I love swapping my wallpaper and just playing around because the image is so clear.

Overall the system seems pretty good. This is my first Sager. My friends tell me I should have bought a Winbook or a Dell if I want them to last.

I hope I prove them wrong !!

If anyone has any questions or comments please feel free !

First off, Congratulations!

Yeah, that 2720 sounds like a nice machine if you don't need the blazing GPU (not that the SiS integrated solution is bad). How is it in terms of battery life?

Battery life is so-so.

Like anything else if I'm putting alot of stress on it (games, movies, etc) it can drain pretty fast. But overall if just do some work, email, chat, internet, etc, it can last pretty long.

This is really my first laptop,so I'm not sure what is good and what is bad when it comes to battery life.

I'd say it would probably drain from normal use in about.. oh... 2 hours ???

I'd have to really test it.

.. and i'm testing RIGHT NOW !!!!!!!! 2pm ET i pull the AC out.

I'll see how long it lasts...

That sounds about right, for Sagers and laptops that are not geared specifically for battery life.

Once you are done with your test, also test how long it takes to recharge to 100% (with and without use, if possible)
