All Acer Aspire 2012 WLMi owners

Hi,

I'm very near ordering an Acer Aspire 2012 WLMi which is going out at a great price of $1250. It would be real help if you experts could clarify some of my doubts about it as the global acer homepage doesn't seem to contain as much details for the 2010 series as 2000 or 2020:

1. Does it have the improved viewing angle (100 degree vertical and 13o degree horizontal) as in 2000?
2. Does it have the Clear Vision as in 2000 and does it really improve the screen brightness/clarity?
3. Is the subwoofer there?

Please please... some fast help....

Thanks,
Yogi

I think the Acer Aspire 2012 is a great deal for the configuration. From all the thread I've read, I think you won't find a better deal.

The only sad thing about it that I wish I could pay a little more to have it in there is the ATI card be 128MB and I am all set hehehe

yeah i was looking into 2025 for the same... but its too high a price difference. but now my major concern is the screen quality for 2012 - the viewing angle

is anybody out there????

please somebody just confirm the viewing angles for the 2012.

there will always remain the doubt about the subwoofer i guess-- its confusing in all forums n everybody says screen is bright and good... so leave alone the clear vision

man only if the 2012 could be up to the ATI 128, rather being at 64 then that would be a dream machine. I can't seem to find a good justification to pay additional 900 bux for it yet. heheh

right smilepak... moreover i read in some forum that comparing the 9700 64mb to the 128mb in 3dmark03, the 64mb gets about 2550 while the 128mb gets about 2900. Is that much of a difference....

have you ever seen a real piece of 2012 or other aspire at any store or friend's? i don't seem to find any brick-n-mortat store here in dallas carrying acer... what's wrong

thanks a lot smilepak... but i've already gone thru these reviews. nobody talked about the viewing angles

The viewing angles are great bud. Bear in mind, you can say that about ANY WXGA 15.4 lcd. I haven't seen one with a bad viewing angle. IT's clear. It's bright. It's nice . Don't worry about it. You'll be happy.

that's great... so the decision is final 2012...

now where to buy? see newegg.com, some customer reviews say they have got dothan shipped in their 2012... could it be true? but the price at newegg is 50-70 bux higher than at buy.com of securesmart... wot suggest? are all the stores equally good? is newegg worth taking chance for a dothan i'm really new to online shopping

kiddah!

The 2012WLMi is a great choice. I have read that some people got Dothans from newegg, however some people who ordered recently did not. So it is a gamble.

i've played the gamble. don't have much faith in my luck... but still

Even without the dothan, the 2012WLMi is a pretty decent gaming rig. I played Doom 3 last night on 1024x768 with medium settings, it was a little choppy, but overall quite playable (no overclocking!)

I think that that as time passes more of the Acer 2012s are being replaced with ones that have the Dothan processor. It seems that more users are reporting getting Dothans now than were before. I ordered two Acers over the weekend (one for me, and one for my friend), and they both arrived on Thursday containing Dothans.
