What is the difference between an extended waranty with Philips vs. Warrantech?

Anyone?

Thanks

They covered this awhile ago. I'm not to postive on that. Check the search for it. If you can't find it G-Omaha would be great to ask.

Did a search for it, wasn't overly clear. That's why I thought I'd ask. Essentially, what does the extra $40 get you if you go with Phillips?

How so? Better phone service, better turn around on the repair, less hassle on the repair?

Thanks

thanks

i would read both of the warranties and see which one suits your needs best.

I hear Philips also covers shipping the unit to them and back to you..If they can't repair it I heard they give a settlement for cash value but not sure on this last part..

Both work?

Phillip's "game" is the PC Market, Warrantech's "same" is appliances.

Phillips is more "upfront" in their policy "policies" - IMHO.

For Warrentech - You MUST have your sales receipt for each "encounter".

Warrentech does not have the "Lemon" clause.

It all boils down to reviewing all of the "fine print" and then selecting the one that you are comfortable with. The Warrentech is easier for PC Torque to administer because they do not have to deal with Sager regarding the policy (as they do for the Phillips policies).

Just my $2.00 work (Inflation has kicked in here).

I hate to say it, but this is a major strike against Sager, IMHO...

It's not Sager or maybe not even the warranty company.. they use the company "micromedics" to do their repairs (is this correct?).. This company seems to be total crap (been reading that a lappy sent for repair came back still broken, shipping boxes the wrong size, lappy not completely protected (ie: barely any bubble wrap in shipping box), etc, etc)..

Too bad! I hardly EVER buy extended warranties, unless it's something expensive (I'd say $1500+ I get extended warranty).. better safe than sorry..

True, I've heard only positive things about PCT and Sager for the first year of servicing, assuming anything at all needs to be done in that first year.

However, Phillips and Warrantech are the ONLY other folks to offer any servicing post-manufacturer warranty. So, if you live in the real world and want to keep your laptop past a single year, it is generally a good thing to obtain insurance and peace-of-mind and buy the extended warranty. If your only service choices offer poor service, it doesn't reflect well on the manufacturer (Sager).

Sager should work with these service providers and do whatever is possible to improve their levels of service, or find other service providers. I would love to see, and be willing to pay a premium for, a extended Sager/PCT warranty, not a 3rd party provider. A great laptop with great extended service, who could pass that up?

Just my $1.95 (inflation + regional cost of living adjustment)
