Hp Pavilion vs. Compaq

Made buy the same people, which do you think is better?

the Pavillion tends to be usualy a few $100 over the sticker of the Presario with exactly the same specs. In that case, the only difference is looks and speakers (JBL Pro vs H/K..which are made by the same people). I like the Compaq look more, but i am not much on hp "quality" so i am opting out of the R3000t alternative.

IMO, Compaq is tons better, i got a friend, got a 1.5 Ghz P4 and 512 mb ram on some model of a hp, even after doing the resotre disc, in like a week it always slows down to a crawl, i mean you click on a folder it takes 3 minutes to open, and im not joking

Well, I guess this is the first vote for the HP. I like the case of the HP better, the rounded design just feels better when using it. It was the deciding factor on what notebook I purchased.

As far as the system slowing down? Mine hasn't done that. I did have to use the system restore at one point. I've only had it for a month, but I think I deleted something that I needed and ended up restoring it.

Yes you all are wrong!!! Cause the Master Says so: HP is better because they look better than compaq when it comes to case design...plus HP comes with a whole bunch of free stuff...If you order one then you will know what I mean!

well, I ordered the compaq X6000

and I am wondering if there is a difference in sound quality between the JBL Pro and H/K.

They are made by the same company but I think the h/k is a little better. Maybe its cause I'm a HP owner?

The first computer I ever owned was a Compaq and I have to says, 3 replacedments later, things still werenot right. Finally when we decided to buy a new computer, we went with an HP and I have to say, I have not been let down or dissatisfied since. I know they are now own by the same company but for some reason, the HP's stand out to as being a better computer and more reliable. I Recently bought the HP zx5410us notebook and totally love it so far and have no complaints. Of course I haven't had it that long (not even two weeks yet) so if my review of this changes, I'll be sure to post it.

Harman/Kardon is the flagship line for JBL but they come from the same factory and get made side by side. In a laptop it dosnt make any differences they are all just tweeters with no freq response. Save the money buy a compaq

But the compaq doesn't get the cool extra stuff the HP comes with. Does a x600 compaq come with a tv tuner???? No baby! You can't touch a pavillionite!

oh yea a 17 TV god i can hardly contain myself.

If you are spending hundreds of extra dollars for "free" goodies are they really "free"
