dell accepts all forms of payment up to and including the computers face value in stamps. They used to offer $50 for getting a preferred account so be sure you hassel them for it.

wtf ...they deffinetely accept cc's....

The sales rep might have been pressuring you not to use a cc, Mine did, when I asked him, he said he was told to avoid cc transactions as much as possible.

they take CC. that's why i'm talking to your right now

BTW: it seems a lot of you people talk to sales reps to order or discuss systems. I just go online and buy what I want after a little research. buying online gives you NO hassle from any salesperson. And the online store will take whatever kind of money you can give them

Being nice and attempting to "haggle" with a sales rep can often get you further discounts or free stuff. On occaision, you can get them to stack Dell discounts with any coupons you may have which is normally not possible (and definitely not online).

Credit cards have a service charge applied to them when used. Therefore, if Dell can get customers to stop using CCs and start using electronic checks, they can save yet another crapload.

They won't refuse to take one, but if you don't use one, they may actually be more willing to take off money on the price of your system.

sales dudes will give u small discounts to get the sale...
guy my friend ordered from knocked off shipping...
i talked to same guy and he gave me free 3yr warranty... didn't get it in end tho (edit - i mean i didn't buy the machine)

using cc shouldn't affect any of this

No, it shouldn't, but some Dell reps will offer higher incentives than normal. Remember, their goal is to make money. They get a commission or whatever it's called, and if they can get rid of that service charge, too, then it's just more for them. (Not saying that service charge is billed to their account, but they'd rather avoid all unnecessary costs.)

They sure do accept credit card.

Some CSR are nice and give you discount. Once, they stopped my online order, and had to "confirm" with me. At the end, my price was a bit lower, no rebate necessary, and got a free printer.

And once, they sent me two computers... I said I only ordered one. I refused to accept delivery, and kept the printer. (You know how printers don't come the same day as the system, sometimes).
