I have looked at those silver cards a lot and really like them. I plan on buying one now. I just want to make sure on something before I bid on one. For instance, some cards are just advertised as the silver series"802.11b". I assume this is the card you’re talking about. The only thing I never understood is if it connects with a/b/g or just "b". I am misled by the 802.11b Yet other items advertises the card as a/b/g. I believe they are the same, because on the card it still says 802.11b. The product number for the card advertised as a/b/g is: 8481-WD. Is this just the standard 802.11b? Anything else I missed? Thanks for the help- Kray

Kray,
We unfortunately do not allow any links to Ebay...regardless of what they are for...its a blanket policy we've taken on these forums to protect everyone and to keep out the fraudulent sellers from spamming us trying to hook people.

Thanks for understanding. Maybe you could link to the original manufacturers website?

Yea, I wondered about that as I posted it. Other forums I am on have the same policy so I should have known. Thanks though, I will just PM it if I have to.- Kray

Nah, I think you had the right link in the first place, http://www.proxim.com/products/wifi/...ard/index.html, the ORiNOCO ComboCard is what you want, it connects to a/b/g networks. As long as the eBay listing confirms it or lists a model number you'll be fine.

That's what i love about these forums. someone asks some pretty involved questions and everyone jumps in to help. you guys are great

I don't know that much about AW notebooks but on the warranty, why not get the 3 year warranty? i know its kinda expensive but look at it this way, that will get u thru almost all of college. it would be nice knowing that after spending all that money if anything happened u would be covered thru your junior year, u know?
