I might have to get a sager is this a good choice for games like cs, unreal 2004, and games like that.

Im not to sure About Ibuypower.com I have not heard any bad things but I also have not heard any good things about them. they jsut look a little shady to me. Now Velocity Micro I can tell you is a good company. they are based outo f richmond VA and I have met a few of thier guys and they seem to know thier stuff. If I wanted a buget system besides alienware or sager i would try this one.

If he wants to spend like $500 down the road and have it painted all fancy he can get a really good paint job off pc torque, so that is still an option if it HAS to be colored. I say go with Sager, why spend the extra $$ for it to be painted when the computers, apparently, are really good. Maybe save up some $$ down the road and you can get an Area-51 later.

Officer Dangles Iam the perfect guy on this subject because i have the area-51 and the sager 8790. the 8790 out proforms the area 51 hands down now i read on one of the post that the sager 5690 is a very good gaming machine it also out proforms the area 51 and the 8790 because it has a higer clock speed 9700 overclocked or somthing.I thought about it but never follow it up.but check out the 5690 it seems like a good deal ,and let us know what you find out it has daul chn memory and you can configer it how you want it they say this thing has the fastest 9700 for the money and as far is pc torque goes put it this way.it took me a month in a 1/2 to get my area 51m.when I oreder my 8790 it came so fast that I thougth someone was playing a joke.I order it monday july 26 and recived it wendays now what is going on with alienware.I know they do test but why dose it take so long some.now they say you can get in two weeks.two weeks? I don't know guys seem like something funny and I have had no problems with my sager and i set it up they i want it nothing was pre installed and it was easy just put win xp pro on it and the rest is history.I love sager and pc torque.My alienware I still like it but sager is wear my hart is for now any way.
this is the best 17in screen that I have ever seen it has some kind of gloss on it the dvd movie are so clear alot clearer then my area 51. but hey i had the money to buy both. alienware got to come out with the upgrade for 9600/9700 thats the only way for them to compete

Everytime I come into this forum I find some post from somebody just telling other posters to use the search function. Doesn't anyone have anything orginal to say? OK, if we keep talking about it? OK with you if we discuss the various issues as they are in present time? Possible any new data will come up? Thanks for understanding.

On the topic. I've never had an Alienware. I always thought they were too expensive. I've had 2 Sagers now. One was the current 8790 with RAID. It was truly a bad-ass machine, but with a couple significant short-commings. Same with the 5680 I had last year. Well, I've got my first Alienware on the way, will be here next week. Can't wait to try it out. I love laptops, they are sooo cool.

as far as price goes, we determined about a month ago that for the same hardware, screen size, etc. (5690 vs A51m) you would pay over $300 bucks extra for an AW. that's taking into account the ~$500 paint job from PCT because the Alienites said that it wasn't fair to compare a machine with paint to a machine without. IMHO the paint job that PCT does is far superior to the paint on an AW. So you pay over $800 more for a machine that is actually not as fast (the 5690 benches ~3900 in 3dmark and the A51m benches ~3400).

They are all good laptops. If I saw and AW at a lan I highly doubt I would be like that "is soooooooo cool" or something, same thing goes for Dell or Sager. I think if I saw a nice looking laptop from a place I never heard of I would be intriged to see how it performs. Apparently you can have the same componets in a computer and they all bench mark differently (yes I know people over clock, but I want bench marks from pcs that are stocked without OC).
AW = Good
Dell = Good
Sager = Good
Just depends on your taste, what you want, and how much you are willing to spend on one. I for one have gone through wanting an AW, a Dell, and a Sager. The AW Conspiracy Blue would match one of my cars color almost perfectly, but I am not willing to spend the cash on that just for the color. I already talked to Dell about some things, but I find their XPS and 9100 to be to thick to use the keyboard, but its still a nice computer, and Sager I like alot with their AMD laptops and what not and its a good price (under $3000) without a paint job but it will be in my room like 99% of the time so I don't care and if I want I can always get it painted later.
