8790 Radeon 9700 Doom3 Driver install issue

I went to install the new ATI catalyst 4.9 I believe for my 8790, but the drivers would not recognize my videa card. ALso, none of the other ATI drivers would find it. The only ones that I got to work were the ones that I downloaded when I first got it. I think the manual had told me where to get them.

Is there a specific type of driver needed to run on the 8790? I'm a little dissapainted that I can't seem to use regular catalysts.

Check www.omegadrivers.net for modified ATI catalyst drivers that recognize the mobility GPU. Check the archives on the site, too. The latest drivers seem to have problems with DVD playback. The stock Sager drivers seem to have problems with DOOM.

And, it seems the 4.5 omega drivers have a problem with After Effects 5. darn it.
