When I placed the order with the sales rep yesterday he didn't mention any delays. my order is still being processed and hasn't even entered pre production yet so I'll update when it does.

I'm not entirely sure how I got the £100 off discount actually I got the free double memory and free shipping which is on the website, and then the sales rep just added £100 off too. I think its just a matter of luck, just ring up and try different sales reps until you get a decent price.

I was also lucky when I ordered; there was a system glitch which meant when I requested the 1450 wireless card (to upgrade the 1350 on my quote) it gave me the upgrade, but also gave me £10 off.

thanks for the reply.

I spoke to dell again just now and they said that there wasnt any delay on the hard drives. The guy i spoke to last night obviously didnt know what he was talking about.

I found a 5% off voucher which works out at just under £100 off but im still geting £ 1841 and that is without a bluetooth card and only collect/return warranty.

You have an excellent deal there !

Im still talking with them to try to reduce the price, will let you know..

Are you using the Dell small business or the home/home office site? You'll find the free double memory on the small business site, it'll save you a bit! The only thing is, you cannot use coupons on the small business site, but you can phone up and try and get the rep to apply the coupon.

One of the reps who I talked to yesterday was lying through his teeth most of the conversation. according to him, I should buy over the phone from him simply because then I'll get my notebook within 7-9 days, whereas "if you buy over the internet you won't get it for a month". There was also "they'll only ship to you once, if you're not at home they won't deliver again" and also "they won't notify you in advance, they just turn up". I didn't buy from him in the end.

I got the same thing about ordering on the phone to make it arrive quicker. After talking to more than one of their reps it obvious some some of them lie/or dont know what they are talking about.

I emailed the spec and price you have and asked if they would match it, and he has replied to say , can he (dell rep) have your name and postcode so he can look up your order.. I already replied saying that i didnt have that information and am waiting to see what he says...

Just by looking at your post will have saved me atleast £100 and maybe more depending on the deal he comes back to me with so thanks for posting it.....
