Dead Pixels!

how noticeable are dead pixels. i thoguht pixels were supposed to be extremely tiny to ensure sharp picture quality, certainly one dead pixel would be barely visible, or am i wrong? do you have to do specific tests to find dead pixels, or are they just blatently visible on the screen.

this whole thing sounds very fishy to me. why would any company sell a product with flaws like this. its not like u buy a car, and as long it starts 4 out of 5 times, it is considered a flawless piece of machinery??? seems to me that if pixels are noticeable, they should be 100% replaced no fee charged. if they are hard to notice, however, i guess the "5 pixel" policies etc. are reaosnable.

If you have a WSXGA or higher res one pixel would be practically unnoticeable ( unless maybe it was stuck on red ). LCD produciton quality is getting better so the chances of getting a dead pixel are very slim now.

Consider something like this:
UXGA runs at 1600x1200 resolution, so that's already 1920000 pixels.
Then take into account that each pixel actually has 3 LEDs (red green and blue): 5760000. (I think this is right... it's kinda late here.. and I'm low on sleep, so... someone correct me if i'm wrong )

Now... can you guarantee that when you put something together with that amount of extremely tiny LEDs that all of them are going to work? Not to mention the fact that even if all of them do, they are still suceptible to damage? It's like inspecting your new car for tiny scratches in the paint and complaining about it. That's why they sell products with dead pixels. Indeed, they are quite hard to see as they are quite small. If you don't actually inspect your screen, and you only have one or two, chances of you noticing them are not too likely for a while. Granted, once you know where they are, they can tend to stand out.

Sager's policy on dead pixels is already a lot better than others, but if you aren't pleased, you can always make use of the 30 day return policy.

RGB eh? how bout my two lit pixels that are both CYAN!!!!

Really though, i just tried to find my cyan pixels and it took about 60 seconds to do so. They are really hard to spot. Oh, i wish i could upgrade my video card/mobo.. this computer is excellent otherwise.
