ok i counted there are 161 registered memebers....

If we all chipped in just 15 bucks each we could get beebster a sager lappy of $2415, and that would be somethin....maybe PCT would do a special deal at cost for habib since he gives so much to this forum

someone else in another thread had the idea, but ....

can I get a count of people willing to do so, bascially i think we owe it to him, but please don't feel obligated, this is my opinion .....but i do feel strongly about it

AND HABIB YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO COMMENT , YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO READ ANY FURTHER THAN THIS !

awesome, i had no idea, but i would like to chip in , in order for him to own one, if enough people are willing.
Ok, I'm not allowed to comment or read further than "this", so I won't... after this, lol. Dan, you are a generous soul, and I thank you for the effort, but there is no need. I do this because I love it :-) My parents will get me a sager in a couple of years most likely, and at that point I'll get to post up about all of the new hardware, lol. For now I'll count on other knowledge and the experiences of the people in the forum (not to mention PCTorque, lol) for my posts.

And PCTorque's generosity is -- and because of the limitation of language this is a gross understatement -- unparalleled. I thank him for his efforts and I shall make the best possible use of them. If anyone has any questions or things they'd like me to try on the 8886, feel free to email me at srourhaz@notes.udayton.edu and this coming Christmas break I will do as much as I possibly can and post all of the results in detail.

Thank you to all of the kind people at this forum. It is likely that there has never been a gathering of such high character and simple goodness.

CMON beebster is a starving college student trying to make it and has a love and passion for Sagers which directly effect us in a positive way,

and he will probably be a billlionaire someday and he will remember you and leave you in his will.....

that was my hard sell, pathetic attempt,

did you like it beeb ?????????

I have appreciated so much everything people have posted on this forum. PCT, B, NS and others have enlightened me and enthused me about optimizing my sager from res. to drivers - appreciated is an understatement.

as for Beebster...where can i send a donation (PCT?). 430 posts and counting - invaluable. and always with a positive attitude - rare.

peace

I would be in too... I'm sure that the one PCTorque is sending for a demo would be a perfect candidate for a "used" notebook at some later date!!!!
Seems like beebster is always responding to everybody!!!!

Hey Dan, while were at it, can we get some free samples from you???

you probly dont know me becuz I have missed my fair share of posts (only 30) but watching this forum grow with all of you guys seems kinda familyish - one big, happy, sager family. I believe this started from pct's friendly responses in the beginning - a great example to set for the rest of the forum. It sets the mood for a friendly forum i gess... and i agree with beebster - this seems to be a forum for the intelligent, mature, and for the most part - kind hearted (from wut i know) computer entusiasts. I have yet to see somebody being rude, nasty, etc. etc... When there are misunderstandings people post back making sure that nobody has hard feelings. And in 400 sumthing posts i haven't seen beebster post sumthing other than positive, helpful information... I'd chip in my 15 bucks. Being a 16 year old without a job and saving up for my own sager (soon to come) I won't be able to match ur 50 dan! excuse the korniness...

Wow! Beebster is right, there are a lot of kind souls here. I am the guy that started this idea. I have been offline all day and did not realize that this thread had started.

I am in, I suggest that we just send it to Adam at PCTorque. Let's
see if we can get Beepster a christmas present of his own.

So Beepster, tell Santa which you prefer, an 8886 or a 5660.

A note to all that are contributing to this effort. This is one of those things that will make you feel good everyday.

Please Beepster, You do not need to reply to this thread.

Merry Christmas!

Congrats to Dan, Roy, Archigram, bwalker & Kreep,

Dan, Thanks for driving this effort. I am sure that in a few days we will hear from the rest of the membership.

I have been a member on a number of forums and this is the first time I have seen this kind of contribution and consideration.

Way Cool! we will all have to grab a beer and have a toast when
we hit the mark.

gdgame, thank you for clearing that up, i am sooo sorry i didnt mention you, but i knew that someone else started this amazing gesture, not me, and i will never take the redit for it, i know thats not the important thing here, what s important is that we get beeb a lappy before the 25th,

Kreeper, you should be very proud of yourself, when i was 16, i can hoenstly say i did not even have clost to the maturity as you, and to chip in 15 bucks at you age, is so selfless , words cannot even describe what you are doing, and what kind of a grown man you will be in the not to distant future,

i am soooo lucky to have found a board like this, and i am soooo appreciative....

lets keep this one on top, sooo any one reading this,

If you can give anything, it would be greatly appreciated , if not, do not feel obligated, this is just a voluntary thing, of course, and i know times arent jammin like during the tech day craze....so please DO NOT feel OBLIGATED....just do it if you decide it's something that you want to do....

I feel that when there is a site out there that runs free, and i personally get something free, that giving back, without being forced to is one of the highest forms of human decency one human can do for another....

is this a necessity for beeb, NO...

but would it be an amazing gesture....YES

my hats off to GDgame for thinking of this, all i am trying to do is get the word out, and if we can do this, it would awesome , in my humble opinion...

just my half a cent

-Dan

PS as we get more, or closer to enough, we need to decide what model, so forth...etc...i think beeb would like a 8886 more but not positive on that one, i will contact adam and we'll figure it out, but for now we need your help, if you can...just think about what it costs to call a tech out , or the time it takes to box up your machine,k or to call a friend over, or to call tech support, and ask yourself if its worth it,beeb doesnt have any obligation to us...and he does it because he wants to, i dont kknow about you all, but you dont meet alot of people in this day and age, like it anymore, all i know is I am chipping in 50, and the rest is up to you all, if you feel you want to....
Is it possible that we could get it from Adam for wholesale? After all, Beebster has realy gotten this forum alive and kickin'.

and Dan, thanks for your kindness and compliemts *blush*. It's already made my day.
