List your OC'ed 9700 128mb speeds

well i want to see what other people with 9700s have their OC'ed at.
i have mine OC 450/220 but i havent tried fora higher speed yet.

just wanna see how good of an OCer this card is.

I'm OCing as we speak.
CL56 running powerstrip.

My latest is 465/255, Mark 03 was 3425 or so. However, the run before that at 460/255 was the same score. at 455/255, I was getting 3400. Seems that the core running at ~450-455 is about enough, and I'm going to see what a higher memory OC is going to do instead. Report back later...

I tried overclocking mine only 10mhz for core/ram and got artifacts

j3ff, did you try using powerstrip? I used ATITool and i couldn't even OC 5MHz before the computer locked up on me. I'm finally done OCing... Here's what I found, at least in Mark03:

Score: ~3550
OC: 480core/268mem (if i set the slider maxed out at 270, it drops down to 216. So 1 notch down is 268).

This OC REALLY surprised me. 480 core is insane! 485 crashes mark03. It'd be nice if I could pull more MHz out of the memory, but I really don't think I'm going to OC this laptop that hard on a regular basis while playing games anyway. I'm just doing it to check out how far I can push it. No artifacts whatsoever though. I was looking really hard in game 4 and PS2.0 tests and there was nothing. Very impressed with the GPU I got.

I'll try out Mark01 and Aquamark later I think just to grab some scores.

I think when I'm regularly gaming, I'll stick to about 450/250.

Yup I used ATI tool. I really dislike using powerstrip because of the 5 second tip thing that comes up every time you load the program. I guess I'll try RivaTuner or something else.

I couldn't overclock at all using the ATI tool but with PowerStrip I went up to 460/230(yeah... sucky memory).

Oc'd my M11 to 465/276 and got 3657 in 3Dmark03.

I wouldn't do that. 450/250 is a serious oc to be using while gaming, I would loop 3dmark03 15-20 times to see if it's stable.
485/250 stable, the max I got it to was 510/260 but not very stable (excess heat).

I just looped it for about 4 hours and it's still running... No artifacts. I might leave it for another couple hours just to make sure though.

What are you guys using to get higher than 270MHz OCs on the memory? Powerstrip only goes up to 270 for me. Is the prog specific to certain cards in certain laptops?

I use radlinker. If that gpu can run at those speeds 4 hours straight, then I'd say it's very stable. Nice.

Similar question: Synthetic benchmarks aside, do any of you oc while gaming? If so, what are you set at and how much excess head does it generate? And how much of a performance differece does it make?

so the OCing program u guys use us "powerstrip"? is it better then radlinker? thats what i use cause it came with the omega drivers

i used ati tool and with the memory clocked at 220 it shows airtifacts on that little carpet ball but ive been a lot at the speed and have found no artifacts with this speed

and hold up here... you guys *DONT* OC while gaming? so is this just for gamming? oh and how do you know if there excessive heat; do u use some kind temperture monitoring program that works with the gpu?

Tourney,
Thanks, got it to work. My final bench before artifacting was 455/287. I think I got some really good memory or something. 3DMark2003 was 3589.

To clarify, I do OC during gaming. Right now I haven't decided b/w radlinker and powerstrip yet. Since I'm only going to clock at 450/250, or thereabouts for gaming, powerstrip will work out fine for me. Radlinker is a pain to get to going through the display properties all the time. Unless there's a better way around it... Powerstrip makes it easy since I just load up the program and select a profile, and it's OC'd and done.

When I get back home (currently visiting grandparents) I'm going to leave my gpu clocked around 450/250 for gaming. This will produce excess heat but as long as the gpu is stable you don't have to worry about any problems.
I believe I hold the record at the moment on this forum for highest score in 3DMark03 with Pentium M/M11

Best I could do on my Twinhead before getting artifacts was 459/243.
I would caution anyone about keeping a GPU OC'ed for ANY extended period of time. There is a reason why the stock core and memory clocks are so conservative, there just isn't enough cooling in a laptop and heat = early death for your GPU.

stop it...you're scaring me.

That was the point.

What would you suggest unleaded if we did want to squeeze some more performance out? What would be reasonable safe settings?
