Finally ordered 9100, Question about pwr adaptor

Hi all!

I just ordered my Inspiron 9100 with the following specs.

P4 HT 3.2
WSXGA+
XP Home
Dell Printer (Free)
256MB RAM (to be upgraded to 1GB from Newegg or crucial)
8x cd/dvd burner
256MB RADEON !!!!
60gb HD 7200
Extra Battery 132 WHr
dell wireless 1350 802.11 b/g FREE
Bluetooth
Leather case
Graphite swirl cover

$2263 with FREE shipping

preliminary ship date is 8/20/04

Just one question through. I want to buy an extra power adapter for my 9100 since I don't want to carry a brick between my two offices. However I couldn't find the same power adapter that comes with my 9100 in the dell site. What is the part number for it?

thanks. will keep the forum updated on how things are coming along with my order.

hey, you might wanna look for this memory since you're ordering as you are:

CORSAIR XMS pdf(I swear i call this crucial every time doh)

I've only found one place to buy it though, which has so so reviews, but most issues seem to stem from changing orders. People who order the right thing seem to be ok with this place (technically, PW shows 2 stores selling this, but their offices are the same location, and websites are similar while not identical)

PC PROGRESS
it's the 2nd item listed. The price has dropped from $134 to $110 in 2 days! wow! time for me to order I guess

Call Dell Spare Parts for the AC adapter. I bought one for my XPS from them for $59.90 USD + $8.00 shipping.

Item
numbr Description
N3834 ASSY;ADPT;AC;150W,LTON;WW
K2490 CORD;PWR;110V;6F;AC;3W;P65;US

Note the cord (K2490) is for the USA.

The memory is made by Corsair not Crucial and I just took shipment of mine on Thursday.

Honestly I really haven't noticed a substansial increase in performance. My 3DMark did increase by 200 to about 3500, with no overclocking and the Dell standard drivers.

well, I figure with the price dropping from 134 each to 110 each in the past 2 days, I just went ahead and ordered 2 that's what, 10-15 more each than value memory, and it's "supposed" to be better in gaming apps

Yeah if only I waited a couple of more days. I guess they won't give me the discount if I brought a week before the price drop.

Where did you purchase the RAM from?

From the cryptic messages on this, I'm assuming you can't actually say where we bought the faster RAM from? If someone wouldn't mind send me an private message with the location/website. I looked at PW and didn't see the exact RAM mentioned in the PDF. I'd like the purchase the same stuff. The part number would be useful too if you wouldn't mind.

Thanks,
The Junky

its odd how the pc3200 ram costs less than the pc2700 ram. Not by much but still costs less.

Is it the same type of ram that you use in a desktop PC for the i9100?
