When I use Internet Explorer and I click on a link or use the back/forward buttons I hear a "CLICK" sound coming from the speakers. The greater the volume the louder the "CLICK" noise. It hapens with headphones and external spekers. If anyone knows how to dissable this sound let me know, because it's driving me crazy.

-Thanks

tuen off all the following in the audio volume control panels :-

Aux, Microphone, CD Player, Phone Line, SPDIF, etc...

You will have to mute all of the above.

The only ones you dont have to mute are :-

Wave
Volume Control
PC Speaker

give this a shot...

No luck with those settings, but if I mute wave there is no more "CLICK" noise, but no more anything like mp3s too. Any other suggestions??????

Computers...

I've had intel app accellerator running for a while now and it does not change the sound I'm getting. The sound is generated only while I'm surfing between links. Thanks for the help though.

It's a 'feature' of internet explorer.
ripped from turn off click noise

. How can I turn off the clicking sound in Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 5.0 and IE 6.0 every time I open a new Web page in Windows 2000?

A. By default, when you click a hyperlink or move forward or backward within IE, the browser produces a clicking sound. To turn off this sound, perform the following steps:
Open the Sounds and Multimedia Control Panel applet (go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, and double-click Sounds and Multimedia).
Select the Sounds tab.
Under Sound Events, navigate to the Internet Explorer section.
Navigate to Start Navigation and remove the sound for this event by selecting "none."
Click OK.

You can also turn off IE's clicking sound in the Registry by performing the following steps:
Start the registry editor (e.g., regedit.exe).
Navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\Explorer\Navigating subkey.
Select the .current subkey.
Select Delete from the Edit menu.
Click Yes in the confirmation dialog box

Are you kidding ?

you are not talking about the beeping coming from the Windows Sound scheme are you ?

If you are, then you just need to choose a different sound scheme or remove the IE sound atributed to it.

I though everyone will know that... Who in his right mind keep the original Microsoft sounds ?
