Hehe just trying to be creative with the title. HOwever, lets get serious for a moment. Im spending around 2300 hundred for a lappy i need some armor to protect my pride and joy. I am definitely getting the shinza sleeve but now comes the question of the actual bag to lug this baby around in. I really want a messenger bag but if any can show me a back pack that is long enough for me than i will change my mind.

Heres a couple i have been looking at.

BTW rincewind, since your the only one i know that has had a shinza do u think it will fit 3790 with the 6 cell in it?

why does everyone like those crumpler bags? My friend (who happens to be gay) and all his gay friends use them. When I asked why they all use Crumpler bags he said it was kind of like the gay rainbow...everyone knows if they see your bag...
Do what i do, just get a garbage bag and a rope. This way too, you're not carrying around some bright flashy color that will attract the robots. Man, those damn robots.

What about kingston backpacks? My girlfriend got one from dell for 100 buxs and it included a wireless mouse, wifi finder, lock cable and a nice padded backpack...

I went to offixe max. I wanted a big tough bag that was a regular laptop bag, with handles and a shoulder strap. The 45$ wenger bag is perfect for me. I also carry a canon i80 with me, so I needed the space for that to.

Neo, that is hilarious about the crumplers. I thought they looked kinda... youthful when I saw em. To fashiony for me, I just want tough, and space for my stuff/tools. Then again, some people like custom paint jobs on thier laptops, which isnt my bag either, so hey, to each his own.

Neo u hav just ruined my day.... O well tomorow will arive shortly.

Is the crumpler really that bad. I hope my girlfriend doesnt know i was considering the crumpler shhhhh.... But now i am definitely sure i dont want a lappy backpack bc that targus that i was thinking about only covers less than half of my back.

Damnit no one has given me any info on the shinza. I really want that thing but the dimensions make me wonder if i can fit the 3790 in it.

Anyone ever seen the messenger lappy bag that i posted on the second link. The reviews say its big and bulky so im thinking it should be perfect for a giant like me.

Still interested in other reviews on other messenger bags.

I still cant believe some people responded to my thread. Much thanks ..........and................

BTW did anyone notice i typed "im not 'work' about books because....blah blah blah"

Only Tumi or Swiss Army Victorinox for me.
I really like the swiss army one Kaneda, but it doesn't seem to be padded inside to protect a laptop like others...can anyone vouch for this? Or suggest another backpack that isn't so...gaudy? I kinda like the plain look of the swiss...

much thanks for the replies, but im a big guy as i stated. How expandable are shoulder straps on these bags. Im looking for around a four foot length or five foot length. If not does any know where i can buy shoulder straps (not specificaly for a messenger bag but one that could attatch these bags)...
Thanks a lot keep them coming

Still no shinza replies huh. Damnit someone go buy a shinza and a 3790 and tell me if they fit.....or else! Hehe

whoa a backpack that fits me, and after all i have said about them.
This guy on the link is about the same size as me. I dunno why he doesnt lengthen the straps so the bag is more towards the lower part of the back but o well the bag looks long enough. Another bag to add to my list

That's got to be one of the most homophobic things I've heard in a while. 'Don't buy that because gay people use it!' That's funny. I have a Crumpler backpack on order and can't wait to get it. If that makes people think I'm gay, then I'll just start hanging out in the girls locker room. Crumplers have kick-ass quality and are unique enough because they're hard to find in the USA because they're made in Australia and mainly sold in Europe. I haven't seen they're laptop sleeve (School Hymn) in person, but I might order one of those too....silly gay laptop.

Brenthaven for me... Not as good looking as some of the other bags but will last forever and will keep William (my T42p) lasting forever too!

PCmag did some sort of bag review... id imagine u can find it on a search at their website... Reviewed tons of bags and concluded that Brenthaven bags have the best shock protection as well as the most durable overall.

So what is the sleve for? Added protection inside your laptop bag?

Did you even read what I wrote? I said "my friend." In fact, he's one of my best friends.
NO, being gay or straight-I don't give two ****s (just don't hit on me). Should he have a problem that I'm str8? no, right? OH, but because Bamboozler feels uncomfortable that he likes something that happens to be targeted toward the gay man he has to call me homophobic?
If you like bags like that then by all means feel good about it. No one is here to judge you.

However, judging from what you wrote, I do think thay YOU ARE either a closet homosexual, or ARE a homosexual....but like I said no one is here to judge you, and it's none of are business!

It seems to me that this might be your first step in coming out of your "closet". Go with it. Who cares what people think, right? CRUMPLER CRUMPLER CRUMPLER

Oh, and by the way:

Prove it to me and everyone else here. Where in my original post did I state not to buy them? Find it and quote me.

i've always thought the crumpler bags looked kind of funky and seemed overpriced. some of their color combinations leave me scratching my head. if that's what you're going for, i'm sure they'd be a nice accessory-- they also appear to be very durable.

i'd rather just buy a laptop backpack and/or sleeve for less cost, though.

Well, maybe for some people. I use it mainly in class for protection of my paintjob and from theives. I have a ferrari and want to keep it on the low in class. I just have a sleeve from shoreline, It's made out of the stuff that they use to make wetsuits.

Wow man. Relax. I didn't mean to accuse anyone of being homophobic. I answered your question as to why people like crumplers: "Crumplers have kick-ass quality and are unique"
Note that I said 'Don't buy that because gay people use it!' and "that's funny". You didn't say that and I didn't accuse you of saying that. Sorry if it came across that way. Please read it this way:

What if someone said 'Don't buy that because gay people use it!', wouldn't that be funny?

I didn't mean it to come across as me calling you homophobic. If you understand that now (Again, I'm sorry if it sounded like I was), hopefully you will refrain from speculating on peoples sexual orientation in the future.

Again, Sorry for the misunderstanding!
