Rate the integrity of Donald's words lower than Whale Manure and everyone should be "all set" with the "real poop".

Here is the post with the 2.5 battery life quote.

http://notebookforums.com/showthread...btw#post377963

I am assuming by the backround in Luke@pctorque's pictures that these are not the "official" release photographs from Sager. It's just a couple of picures of the notebook on a table in a office. Especially since one of the pictures is of the notebook with Notebook Forums on the screen.

This may be just another customer 'relaying" what he read/heard/etc... Not a fact, indeed.
That's true

He does mention that he heard this from a customer service rep at PCtorque? You would think they have been testing a unit for performance.

well both of you guys are partially correct. I did hear "Roy", I believe it was, say that he "estimates" battery life to be 2.5 durring normal usage. BUT... they still need to test all this week, and hopefully by the end of this week/beggining of next week, start shipping.

I hope the test proves more near 3 hrs on the 6cell, or I'll have to go with the 12cell (BAH! the 12 isn't bad lookin)
No it isn't bad looking at all. And you won't be looking at it once you see the screen. I would think a 15.4" wsxga or wuxga would be a thing of beauty.
2.5 for normal usage.... err
wut's the battery life on an amd system under "normal usage"?
sager rep said 2.5 hr battery runtime

i dunno about that, only because the only review i've seen of the 3760, which im assuming also runs on a 6-cell, got nearly 4 hours under light load circumstances.

but, i guess it remains to be seen

on this however:
Yes, the PowerPro M 5:6 is a much better choice. That is why we don't carry the Sager NP3760.

spoken like a man satisfied with his sxga+ viewing angles? ill take wsxga+ for a little less battery life any day of the week. plus internal bluetooth, optional large capacity batt, and (what i think are) better aesthetics? hmm. guess that's why powernotebooks carries the 3790 now.

Agree. Besides this guy Donald Stratton(?) is the OWNER of www.powernotebooks.com Yeah, go on the website and see there that he and his wife Charlotte(?) have found the company.
They seem to have changed their opinion on Sager 37**, though.

Look here: http://www.powernotebooks.com/catego...catId=24#id414

They are now selling them.
ya... i know they sell them... how is that a change of opinion tho...
guy said cl56 would outsell 3790 2:1, after he said they would offer it

i was thinking he was posting a correction about build quality, battery life or something

Grow up with the troll comment. I got it off the Voodoo website saying 4+ hours with the optional 12 cell battery.
Do you believe everything Voodoo tells you? They say their computers with the same chasis as sager's weigh less. I am not sure how that works out.
He hasn't changed his mind at all. He said they wouldn't be selling the 3760. The 3790 is the only centrino laptop with WSXGA+ & a MR9700, he'd be shooting himself in the foot if he didn't offer it.

yeah i misread that, thought he said 3790, not 3760. still i don't agree that the cl56 will outsell the 3790 2:1, that's a pretty big differential. if the battery life on the 3790 comes out to what we think it will be, it might have a chance to do the opposite (outsell the cl56 2:1)

seems like a pretty quality laptop to me... soon as i hear a single good review, i'm ordering

btw anitchrist. is your name damien torn? like the omen movie.

I will tentatively enter this thread with some extrapolations I have made from my 8600 system which as far as I can tell is the closest thing to the 3790 that we actually have our hands on to test. Average tested battery life on primary 9 cell battery is 4.5hrs. Average on 9cell + 6cell modular battery is 8 hours. All things being equal (I realise they are not equal, but they are comparable at least) a similar system on 6 cells should get 3 hours or more and on 12 cells should get at least 6 hours. The only real difference between these systems is the ATI 9700 which runs on a very similar core to the 9600. Hope this helps?

Cheers
