possible heat issues

Starting monday one of my buddies is comming over for a week long coh-fest (we both took off work for this event =oP, i know, its nerdy as hell, but bare with me). I will be using my 2 week old CL56, love the system, have had no problems as of yet with it, but I am worried about possible heat issues that may occur from this usage. I plan to play coh about 10 hours every day for 5 days straight on it, while my buddy uses my desktop that I normally use while at home. I got a prog that tells me my HDD is running at 35 degrees c, I cant get a reading on the cpu but I'm thinking they arent too far off from each other... At what point should i start watching out for system problems/hardware damage from heat? I operate this machine in a room that will never exceed 70 degrees f, and i have had no real problems with/from heat yet, just dont want any to start due to this.

I guess my question is, is itsafe to run my machine this long with a graphically intensive game?

The GPU might be the biggest heat source. Laptops aren't meant to be left on, you might want to get one of those cooling pads or run the lappy near a fan.

Have fun!

35C? That's pretty good! My CL56 is running Folding@Home 24/7 on full load since I got it and I'm averaging 45C according to MobileMeter. It hasn't melted down yet so I think you'll be ok

the 35c was idle... it didnt really go up much after i started coh, just blew out hot air... guess imover reacting... i operate in a room thats gonna max at 70 degrees f, and have a ceiling fan blazing 24/7 so pretty cool area to run it in. think thatll be fine?

yea i said room temp in that earlier post too, just realized that. oh well
