Ok, I have the hindge crack, and BestBuy is going to swap the laptop for the M6810. The only difference I can see is the CPU is 2ghz instead of 1.8ghz. I have upgraded the OS to XP pro and have it configured to my liking. I would like to avoid ghosting my drive since I Ghost it a month ago, I would like to just take my hard drive out of my M6805 which has my current system running on it and drop it into the new M6810 replacement laptop. Will that work , is all the devices the same or at least the motherboard the same. Everything should work just fine wouldn't you think?

It would work but BB won't let you do that. No joke.

Yep it works. I am typing on the M6810 right now. Sweet, everything works. I had to reactivate my Norton products. Surprised XP didn't require reactivation. All drivers are present all works including games. Good Good. Good Job Best Buy.

There's always a first! This group is littered with people that tried to do the same and BB always said no. Good deal!

My serial number has 46 as the 4th and 5th digit so looks like in a couple months I will get another one replaced with the newer model. Hopefully by then the 9700 or 9800 chipsets will be in em.
