I lost Amber.... People suck. - Page 2

sorry to hear about your situation. it double sucks because of what your parents think. even if she was insured, you will not get full value from the insurance company. you will get blue book (low end) minus your deductible. if the car is recovered, whatever the thieves did not strip, will be taken when it is in the impound yard. i thought you were going to say that your laptop was in the car as well.

got any pics of amber you care to share with us?

If thats not what insurance is FOR, I don't know what is. Do you pay for your own insurance. If you do then you get to do what YOU want with the settlement.

I hate to say this, but your car has probably been parted out. Sorry man.

nothing, the body was completely stock, all my mods were performance mods. I wanted an Evo sleeper...if thats possible Ugh, ive seriously already lost hope, if the theives werent pro's i doubt they would have been able to deal with the club, and the alarm.

Edit: i almost forgot about my little Ninja guy, hanging from my rear-view mirror! Those bastards also got my ninja, my cd's and a picture of me and my girlfriend, and wutever else wus in the car...*sigh*!

haha, i actually did use my "the club". According to the cops, they take a few seconds for the pros to take off tho

aw man! that sucks! very sorry for you!

personally, I'd care more about lost laptop than a car, cause car at least can be found, but lappy has all the info and stuff!
Man sorry about that, you just never think it's going to happen to you. Good Luck, and hopefully a shinny new 2005 Evo will show up at your door one day soon.

Evo, did your folks actually let you know in what way you were lacking in responsibility??? I would think they were pretty crap parents if they hadn't actually let you get an Evo in the first place Despite posts I may make in jest in other threads, I am sorry for your loss

Anyway, what actual mods did you have on the Evo??? Big turbo? NOS? If you want a true sleeper, there are plenty of things you could do to the maxima along the same lines, just a bit harder to find off the shelf gear for it
Best sleeper I ever saw was a 1984 Magna (I think it might have been a chrysler scorpion or sigma or something in the US) with a shoehorned 351 Clevo V8. Totally stock, ****ty body externally, but did 9 sec quarters (change of tyres obviously). Used to scare the **** out of people at the lights

Anyway mate, we are all praying for the return of Amber.
Cheers

Ugh. I'm sorry to hear that Evo.

My ex had her car stolen with her laptop inside. Really sucked.

I know ur joking But yea, my parents are just completely unreasonable. I guess they just dont like me driving all around, especially driving my friends, and especially to the city... And the Evo was actually a gift from my sister.

Eh, its just not the same with the maxima. It is pretty fast, and nice interior. But its still a family car. As far as power and handling go; you just cant compare the two.

as for mods, heres what i had so far: HKS Downpipe & Cat-back exhaust, APS Dual vent BOV, Walbro 255 Fuel Pump, and Defi BF Gauges (Boost & EGT).
I was pretty happy with the stock turbo, so i was planning on leaving that. And im just not a fan of nitrous, lol, looks good in the movies tho.

ouch. well evo, i really hope you get your evo back...

DAMN! that's one hell of car you have there! seriously though, and a bit off topic, if it's one of those steering wheel clubs, they could always just cut through the steering wheel. i saw that on some insurance commerical.

Sorry to hear about that (not going to mention my opinion about the car). My friend almost bought the Mazda Speed last year until we went to a couple places and found out that all off their Speeds were broken into and parts were stolen out of them (IE ac knobs, radios, etc). No one will touch my Lexus or my Mazda or they know I will hunt them down and kill them rofl. Actually if someone stole my Lexus it wouldn't be so bad because the insurance company would give me a fat check, but I love her none-the-less.

The Club = Crap, and yes you can just cut the steering wheel and slip it off.

One thing about modifying a car (even one that is already modified from stock) is that it catches the eye of a thief.

whats you opinion of the car?
It was completely stock aesthetically. all the mods were performance mods

Well I guess my only real opinion on it is just pricey for what it is is all, but everyone has their tastes and I don't knock it. I hardly see any of them around here in Houston, but at least its a change of pace from the civics beening modified. I just wished they would've used a different body style than the Lancer. I hope things work out for you though and don't bash me or hate me

The stock mods is what the thiefs for sure knew you had, all the other stuff you had on it was extra goodies for them when they took it. Hopefully it wasn't like an inside job and the people that took it knew what you had.

Are you going to get another Evo or are you going to go with something else? Still though I am sorry this happened to you and I can't understand why people can't leave other peoples property alone and quit being A-holes.

Just curious why you think its pricey. Its a similar price to a low end lexus (maybe cheaper), but i think your comparing two different things. The Evo is most deffinetely NOT for luxery. It is however, pure performance. If you think you could compare a lexus to an evo in terms of performance, your mistaken.

I dont understand how you can possibly compare an Evo, to a riced out civic. But as for the body, i guess thats just a matter of taste. Not tryin to bash you, just curious where your comming from.

Hell no. I would kill them (not just an expression) if they thought about doing something like that, and they know it

agreed.

I'm really sorry again, man. If any humor helps, think of the theft as your charitable event this year.

oh boy. man, i don't wanna sound like a jerk, but i would never bring that car into the city! terribly sorry. keep calling to see if it was impounded. and if you called manhattan police, they might not have been able to help you if you parked it out in queens(?). still, dont give up on getting a new one! good luck.
