When will HP/Compaq update their Athlon 64 line of notebooks?

I'm very close to getting the r3000z Athlon 64 notebook because of the WUXGA screen but I still don't know if I can swallow the Geforce4 Go440 GPU. This is the only thing keeping me from buying it. Is there any other WUXGA or UXGA Athlon 64 notebooks on the horizon? I bet if I get the r3000z notebook now, it won't be long before they anounce their next updated Athlon 64 line of notebooks with Geforce FX Go5700 or Geforce6 Go, or someone else comes out with a really nice WUXGA/UXGA Athlon 64 notebook. So I guess I'm still waiting, to bad the Ferrari didn't have an UXGA option...

I'm really hoping so. The R3000Z line is more outdated than the R3000T's(something I think HP did on purpose.) Anyway judging by the hefty rebates on them at Circuit City and Bestbuy I personally think new ones will come out. But since they haven't been annouced I wouldn't count on it. I'm just going to go a head and get one now myself. If something better comes out by the beginning of September then I will get it instead.

I just saw Walmart started to sell the r3000z and zv5000z models. I'm really scared now, I guess they'll be around for another year...?

It's really strange, the Geforce4 Go440 is going to give HP/Compaq, AMD and nvidia a bad reputation...

I have recently purchased the HP zv5260us from Circuit City, and yes I almost bought the eMachines 6811 until I heard about the hinges and their cacking problem only for the better Vid card. It is not DirectX 9 compatible, but I have had no problem at all playing Call Of Duty; which says it requires a 100% DirectX 9 compatible card. I just got it so I haven't gotten the chance to try any other DirectX 9 games yet. HP calims you can send it in and they will upgrade the card, but at what price? I wouldn't even want to hazard a guess. So far I have been very happy. (even with just the wxga screen)
