X800 Arrives today

After a desperate attempt to see if Doom 3 would run on my Radeon 9700 (about 64 MB), I decided to purchase the X800 last week. Hopefully it will arrive in the mail today (like they said it would) and I will be happily playing Doom 3 until 3am....I need to catch up to you guys who are already playin' it... I cannot wait to see the difference!

Its a good card, but right now I find the geforce 6800 a more compelling buy

I never really did like ATI, i'm more of an nVIDIA fan.

Its all about personal preference… much like the intel vs AMD dispute…personally I don’t see a difference…

But every retail I talk to recommend the ATI cards over the nVidia…saying “hands down ATI just performs better than nvidia”

seemed to be ATI was always hands down better, until the 6800..Either Card, 6800 or X800, both great cards (from what I've seen). I really doubt that difference is going to be noticeable.

well from the ATI cards i have used (9800 pro, 9700 pro, 9600 pro, 9600 mobile, 9000, and 900 mobile) i could always see the same thing wrong with the picture. I'm a huge fan of v-sync and not being able to turn that on with ATI really made me mad. (yes there is an option for it in the video card control pannel, but it really doesn't do anything) So (for me) i like the nVIDIA picture better, but like everyone says it is a matter of personal preferance. Both cards kick ass and you'll be happy with anything you get

Once I beat, Doom 3, i have to catch up on some games that wouldn't run on my other systems especially since I had to send my Area-51m back...
