Integrated Wireless Installation

Thread Starter
I was wondering if it is possible to install a wireless card in a 8890 after you have already had it for a while. I looked on sager but it doesn't seem like they have anything other than just a PCMCIA card. Does it just use a mini PCI slot? If so could I just buy one from ebay such as http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...713561450&rd=1 Has anybody tried doing it before and knows where to intsall it? Please let me know, thanks

I think you can.. but the internal wireless in the 8890 is mini-usb not mini-pci so that 1 will not work.. and havent found many of the mini-usb circuit boards that are not part of a usb external wirelesss adapter..

You can order the internal wireless card for the 8890 from Sager for around 85 bucks, if I recall correctly. Then all you do is remove the keyboard, attach ONE of the two antenna wires to one of the pegs on the card, screw it down into its spot in the top-left corner, put the keyboard back on, boot her up, turn it on (fn F7), and use the driver disk to install.

I ordered the bluetooh and wireless parts long after I purchased my 8890. It's pretty straightforward, all and all.
