After buying 4 dell work stations thru a re-seller I purchased a 9100. For the last week the batery won't hold a charge. I call Dell tech support and they make some changes (to the bios and msconfig) and to make a long story short I am getting 4 error messages (1 dll message) boot takes 15 minutes (befoer it was "just" 10) and my mcafee is disabled. All these problems have never happened before. The tech does send me a new battery and tells not to go on the net unless "entirely necessary". I explain that work is "entirely necessary" and he says he will research and call back. I call back looking for a second opinion and am told to do a restore yet another message. After numerous calls I am promised 3 call backs none of which have happened by the appointed times and I am told I need to pay for someone to repair the problems they created.
Is this typical for Dell? Do they make good on something like this? Someone have a address for someone higher up I can talk to?
I am confident enough of you here would be able to help me fix this but I don't want to give Dell an out if something else happens down the road.
