Thread Starter
what version USB ports are on the 5670? how many? it sucks that the 5670 can oly have 1 hard drive. is there a 60gb 7200RPM or 80GB 5400RPM HDD coming soon? that would be so sweet. also, how sound quality on the 5670? better than area 51 and 8887?

How many laptops do you know that can support more than one hard drive??

The sound card on the 5670 and Area 51-m and the 5660 are the same. The one on the 8887 is different. Quality wise they are all the same as far as I could tell...

Additional Question

To anyone who might be able to shed some light on this...

I'm on the verge of ordering a 5670 at the moment, but I seem to remember reading something somewhere about the 1600x1200 mode not supporting 24bit color. It would surprise me if this were the case, but I'd rather hear from someone who has one that the 1600x1200 mode can support 24bit color because if it can't, it's useless to me : )

According to a few who posted about my screen quality comments, the 5670 is the BEST of anything they have ever seen. The 8887 comes close but not quite.

If this is the case, you can bet it has 24bit color support or I'm sure they wouldn't remark that well on it. Also, if it does, I'm sure any future ones in like the 5680 and 8888 and all future ones will have 24bit color.

Check out Adams review on pctorque.

Yeah, I'm pretty secure with the thought of picking one of these up, and I'll be ordering a completely maxed out 5670 at some point in the next few days, most likely from PCTorque thanks to the kind words of people here and at resellerratings.com.

And I can hardly wait to see that screen.

I'm an interactive designer/developer at an ad agency here in Minneapolis, and our whole shop is full of macs, and I insist on staying on the PC side of things. I can hardly wait to get this thing, demo it to the people I work with, and then see the expressions on their faces when I tell them what it cost me.

Some of these people have $4000+ powerbooks.

It'll be hilarious.

NO, dont.

M10 notebooks are RIGHT around the corner.

It's so close buying now is foolish, unless you have a certain circumstance that demands it.

It's a popular SEARCH TERM many people use in these forums...

It is the "next" generation of ATI video cards, whereas the current is, surprisingly, the M9 (i.e. ATI Mobility 9000).

THE technology is just around the corner...

Lord Berek is right, the technology is just around the corner... If you want an idea of what's in store check out this thread http://sagerforums.com/showthread.ph...&pagenumber=1. IMO the golden age of laptop gaming is just around the corner as laptops are about to become as powerful as their desktop counterparts.

I don't know if I feel like waiting for an undetermined amount of time to get my hands on one of these though. If I had any solid information to go off of, things would be different, but I don't want to get into that game of always being lured by what's around the corner that no matter what I buy, I'll be disappointed in a month or two when something newer comes out.

Basically, I just want a really nice laptop with a good screen that's good for web/print/interactive/video work. I'm not planning on gaming on it, I've got a kickass desktop system for that.

I dont think there is any harm in waiting and watching really.

I assure you - some exciting stuff is just happening in the computer hardware world and you dont wanna snap at the bait too early and miss the line entirely...

Just chill and wait...

Believe me..it'll be worth it...

Yeah, I passed my geek.com posts a while ago... heck, I'm hardly ever there anymore. I like this forum the best, I think. It really is a great place for lively conversations (and it's not slashdot/crap).

So the m10, is just what people on this forum are calling the upcoming sager laptop... im guessing it stands for ATI Mobility 10000?, or is this wrong?

Also whats Sager's name for this new laptop....

Will this be a whole new series, or a upgrade to the 5670 or the 8887

The next big thing for Clevo/Sager will be the D470.

But I'm a lot more curious about what that new Alienware Area51-m model actually is, because it looks damn nice:

The M10 is the codename for what ATI announced as the new laptop mobile video card - Radeon Mobility line..

The video card is generally the lacking thing in a mobile system, thats why you hear so much about M10... thats the new thing, and boy we can't wait... and were waiting... waiting...
