4080 in the car

Hi everyone, I am going on an unexpected trip in a few days and will be in the car for a long time. I dont have the time or money to get the official car adapter for the 4080. So I was looking into getting a inverter from the target i work at, or another electronics store. Could someone tell me if some of these will work for me. Ill only be using it when the car is running of course and be using it for most likly hours.

dont bother with anything under 350/700 peak . those little 75-175 will come up short and theres not much price difference. the colman invertrs at walmart are just fine. but the ones that say for laptops but are under 300 are a joke. its just not worth the risk of under powering your unit.

the PSU on a 4080 is rated to 120 watt, make sure the normal wattage (not peak) is at least 120 watt (i have a 400/750 that can power this and have plenty left over for other small things, like my nomad jukebox3). didnt cost much and it works fine.

HEY DUDE. In my area, a little south of Los Angeles, there is a best buy deal and I bought it. It might be the same in your area but it is a great deal. 39.99 for a 400/800peak inverter. I bought it yesterday and it works great. It comes with a 2 yr warranty so if it breaks you get a new one. On the best buy website, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....1&type=product, it is 69.99 and the picture does not justify it. It is smaller than it looks on the picture. I think it is great and I bought it for the 8790 im getting

You used it already, on another laptop? You say you haven't actually gotten the 8790 yet, so what did you try it with?
