Does anyone have the Battalion 101 S-Turbo? - Page 2

I got the call from Fedex.

Start of saturday...1 am. So going on day #5 (yes...they work on saturdays), if everything goes well it should ship by next friday

Just wanted to make a real quick comment, a full review is coming later...

I just received my Ibuypower S-Turbo (Uniwill) today, overall, I'm very happy with the machine, IbuyPower got it to me the day they told me they would from the start, albeit I was a little concerned at one point, because they hadn't sent it yet the day they told me they would, (they sent it the next day and it still arrived on time) So far there seems to be no horrible heat related problems with the laptop, yes, it does get lukewarm under the left palmrest, but it is really not that bad at all, and I've seen many laptops that are much hotter. The air coming out of the back not extremely warm either, and the fans are pretty quiet. Thank the pixel gods, I currently have no dead pixels, although I did notice a disturbing line of wierd looking pixels for a minute when I was installing some software, but when I moved a box into the line of pixels, they returned to normal, they may have a problem displaying that specific color (kind of a pale green) however, after I moved away from that installation background, I haven't seen a single problem with any pixels thus far. I still have a lot of testing and toying to do with the computer, I'll keep you apprised on everything I do, but for now, I am a satisfied customer.

Can you have a look in the BIOS & see if you can manually adjust the voltage settings on the CPU down to 1.2V?

And does the WXGA feel really cramped? I took a look at one the other day & almost threw up.
Can you take the optical drive out & take some photos of it & the socket?
We need battery run-down test too..

I just got my laptop today. I'm going to play around with it a bit and then post a review and benchmarks.

I'm doing the battery test as we speak, the WXGA doesn't feel cramped at all, but then again, I only use 1152 x 854 when I use a desktop, so it is very similar.

Nice to see all you folks are getting yours. A week from tomorrow is the estimated *shipping* date for me, so I shouldnt count on it for another 2 weeks.....review in 3? maybe by that time all the new owners will already put up their reviews and there won't be a shortage of reviews for this model anymore and there wont be a need for my system..heh...easier for me beacuse i will already be in the 2nd week of school (starting next tuesday....6 days) and i will hardly have any time for anything....it will even probobly have to wait till the weekend (if i get it on a weekday) to set up everything (except install XP Pro to check it works so i dont have to send it back).

I ordered a Battalion S-turbo on July 21st and am recieving it tomarrow hopefully, Fedex says it's here anyway... I found it to be the best buy for your money anywhere, I will post a review tomarrow when I get it.

Nearly a month? My wait started on the 9th and will end the first week on September hopefuly. Well..also *nearly a month*. Even though the prices are great, the wait is killer long. If i would have ordered a CL56 from DL i would already have it in my hands, oh well!

I just got it last night....i am still in the set-up stages, my CPU isnt even working right (only goes up to 802mhz) to get the benchies done. I'll try to have the review up by the weekend.

I am new here but have been searching for a discussion on cyber power.
I too have just ordered a cyberpower x64-8000.
athlon64 2800, cdrw combo drive, 40gig hd, 512 pc2700 333mhz mem, no o/s but am thinking about the 64bit winxp pro beta but will probably just use win2000 for now.
and mobile ati radeon 9700 128mb video card.
I am excited and leery as all hell from all that i have read.
I would be happy to share my review with you all if you like.
I ordered the unit on the 21st of sept the hit my card on the 22nd and say it will ship on the 15th of oct.

By all means do give us a review once your up and runnin' and wlecome to the forum.

Well here is an update on my cyberpower x64-8000.
I just recieved my shipping notice from cyberpower/fedex it is sched to arrive oct6th.
I got into the companies tracking system " i work for fedex" that only the airway bill was created and no pickups have ocurred. but i am enthused.
