I just bought an S-series notebook and I'm sure there are more Vaio users around as well as Thinkpad users... How come there isn't a THINKPAD or VAIO section?
Sorry to crap on your thread, but it's Vaio, not viao.

I guess for the same reason there is no Acer section.

Just be happy there is no Dell section

I guess because this is a general consumer/gamer forum and those two don't look like they'd be in the running for either category?

Errm, there IS a Dell section...

There are no IBM or Sony forums because most likely not enough people here own them.

We need an Asus section

the only reason there is a Seger section is because PCTorque sells them. Dell, toshiba, emachines/gateway are major companies. AW is just a well known boutique, thats why it gets a section every other boutique (cyberpower, ibuypower, hypersonic, mwave, discountlaptops, ect) are crammed into here, as well as the smaller companies (ibm, acer, asus, compaq/hp) here. just enjoy what you have, however like they said, thinkpads.com for your ibm needs, there are r3000forums and x1000forums for the compaq users, i am sure there is something for everybody

Yes, AW is just a "boutique". I wouldnt really say IBM is smaller than Toshiba, they just cater to the business market. IBM is much less mainstream for the home user.

that makes sense but i was commenting on the "ibm is smaller" remark...IBM has $20 billion more in revenue than toshiba a year

If there should be ANY new forum, it should probably be a CL56 forum. Probably the most poplular notebook on here.
Theres really not enough intrest in IBM, Sony, Fuji etc etc compared to the other vendors such as Dell / Alienware. Adam says theres probabaly longer running established forums that service these people such as the x1000 forums.
by smaller, i ment in the home user sector of the market.

More or less the well informed consumer who can actually find sites such as this one

Besides look at how many posts the Toshiba + the Gateway garner compared to just Dell then you can see that the IBM and or Sony section would just contribute to clutter. Its nice the way it is now combining all the smaller groups into the general section.
