alright, I'll try that. My goal is to get as much real, accurate info about this machine as possible.

Thnx. I'll try some OC'ing and maybe buy some AS5, and see if I can beat maya

btw, I installed Doom 3 last night and also installed the cat 4.9's, it runs very smooth on medium settings. I also got Fraps, and I get between 25-35 fps most of the time. I'll do some more tests on various settings and overclocks with Far Cry, UT2K4, Halo, Doom 3, 3dmark01, 3dmark03, and Aquamark 3. This may take some time, so be patient.

Hey ogre, CONGRATZ!!!

Welcome to the brood, Ogre .
and maybe post a link to the drivers too
BTW,

4750 drivers are now available on Sager's website - http://www.sagernotebook.com/pages/tech_sfwrdls.html#1

Not sure exactly how different these are from the base installs. I would guess that they're the stock drivers we all already have. Anyone care to test them out?

Thnx again

hmm, I'm not having any problems but I might try those ...
those are the official drivers.

so are they different from the ones we already have? I assume so, I wonder what they improve
post #29 of 96
that means they are officially supported by sager. i don't think the omega drivers are officially supported.

well yeah, I know they're official, I'm just wondering what the difference is with the new ones.
Probably no different than the stock ones.

that's what I'm thinking. At least I doubt they'll offer any increased 3D performance.

to speed up Doom3 on ATI cards, check out:

ok, I'm doing a light usage battery test right now. There is a thunderstorm in my area, so I figured this is as good a time to test battery power as any. I booted up at 6:45 Central, I dimmed the screen, and it's set on laptop/portable power saving mode. So, let's see how she does (I named my 4750 Veronica )

I know, I put it as dark as possible, and it's still easy to see everything, a testament to the clarity of the screen

Looks promising. It's been on for 20 minutes now and it's only at 83%. So, according to my calculations, that's 117.647059 minutes of battery life, just under 2 hours, and I haven't calibrated it or anything.
