problems with BIOS, 5620

Thread Starter
I downloaded BIOS upgrade from http://www.clevo.com.tw/download/ftp...=1&submit=+GO+

File BIOS110a.zip

After I upgraded the BIOS, my hardrive seems to be freezing for 1-2 seconds very often whatever I do (read the forums, play games, winword...etc). I haven't had such troubles before the BIOS upgrade. Therefore I was wondering if I installed the right BIOS version ...what did I do wrong? Or did I miss something in my new BIOS settings...?

Is there a way to install the original BIOS version again (which usually comes with the sager notebook when you order it)???

Could anybody with the same (or similar) bios version copy and write the settings of their bios...please, so I could check them with mine and correct whatever I did wrong...

Thanks a lot

Did it not make a backup of your current BIOS prior to putting the new one on? Just re-run the flash program and point to your backup BIOS file.

I have the latest bios from Sager with the keyboard bios also. If you want them, send me an e-mail.

Problem updating

Hello i have the same problem than Ispirty.

So I downloaded two bios from internet (56bios1109.zip and bios110a.zip) and i am trying to downgrade to 1109. I am using a boot disk but it doesn't works.

The Flash utility shows the next message:

Cannot flash when Memory Managers (e.g. HIMEM) are present.

What can i do to solve this problem and update my system??

Thanks.

On your floop disk (Autoexec.bat), you will need to comment out (REM) the load of the memory managers. Then it should work upon your next boot.

I tried to send the exe file from sager. For some reason Bellsouth is not allowing the file to be send to Farru. I am glad you could solve the problem. If you still need them, let me know. I will try some other way.

Change the file extension (Last three characters) to something else (like .DOC) and resend it. Farru would need to rename the file to the correct name before using.

Keyboard bios

farru - where did you get the keyboard bios?
I have installed 1.01.0a without problems (and the computer seems to work correctly) but my keyboard bios is still 1.0.11. :-(

BTW. Does anyone know how to change the shadowing of bios and video memory? Don't want it - but can't turn it off in bios :-(

/Roy
