satellite pro m35 pentium M procesor stuck @ 598 mhz - Page 2

JAWS check out THIS THREAD. There were several people with various machines that all had the same problem. Especially look for some posts by kenner as he figured out how to get the multiplier back up to 16x to get the cpu to run at 1.6GHz after it was stuck at 6x running at 600MHz.

IIRC the fix had something to do with a post over at tabletpcbuzz. It might even be the same post that isparkes links to a few posts up from this one.

EDIT: pay special attention from post 29 on. That's where he fixed it and apparently the same fix works in the satellite M30/35's

Thanks for the info. The members here at NF.com are very thoughtful. I know this is an old topic, but I had 3 emails giving me the answers for my problem. I'm running at 1500mhz right now. (overclocked to 1600) way better than 598mhz.

Thanks again to everyone! JAWS

Just in case anyone else finds this; I have a Toshiba Qosmio G15-AV501, and the CPU was capped at 598MHz. Contacted Flight 2127 above, and he saved my day!

I have a Toshiba spm30 with CPU capped at 598 MHz.

I've read all threads on this topic and tried:
* Created bootable SD-card (didn't boot from it)
* Tried in some magical way to burn the SD-image.VFD (for the SD-card/3.5# disk) onto a CD and boot from that, didn't work (suprise).
* Bought a USB 3.5" diskunit, created a bootdisk, booted from it (it did boot from the disk, but the process halted halfway through).

Now my last chance is to get the ISO-image for creating the bootcd, and try isparkes (post #18 above) method:

a) Exit to DOS prompt using F5
b) Run SETTBL_B.BAT

So my question: Is there any friendly soul out there whom still has the ISO-image for creating the bootable CD (or someone that has any other tips?).

I was able to use the Toshiba utility to update my M15-S405 which I changed the processor on. I went from a 1.4GHZ Banias to a 1.7GHz Banias (1mb cache) without any problems. Is there any hope I could use a Dothan core on this computer? I have the Toshiba 1.50 BIOS.

I know it is an old topic but by any chance anybody still have files and instructions to solve this problem?
My toshiba M30 has died recently. It is out of warranty for at least couple years. besides it's canadian model and toshiba's service in UK is next to 0 in my area. I managed to replace motherboard myself and laptop is working now BUT Processor has stuck to lowest CPU frequency.
Can somebody still have those tools or point me to proper solution?

Tried the bios update as mentioned?

Go to Support& Download - BIOS download - plug in SP M30 and click to the BIOS Description

Yes, motherboard was brand new. BIOS was updated immediately from 1.4 to 1.5. Problem's still there.

That is a tool to find undervolting parameters. I already done it long time ago. It is no use since my cpu will not go above 600MHz. Actually it will not allow to change volting parameters even for that frequency, at least in notebook hardware control

Problem is solved. I found solution on other forum for tablet PC. downloaded file pom200t150.ima and made a bootable dvd out of it with nero. restarted laptop from dvd. tried to follow menu but computer will just hung. had to restart from dvd and go straight to dos-mode F5 and type SETTBL_D.BAT, BIOS was updated instantly and computer restarted into fully functional CPU(1.7GHz)

Brilliant! Thanks for coming back with the resolution.

Just wanted to say thanks! I recently upgraded again so I had to go through the whole process again. LOL it was almost as frustrating as it was the first time. The SETTBL_D.BAT worked perfect and was burned by nero 6. Nero was a little tricky, but worked. Thanks
