XP OS- Updated?

Speculation: perhaps some of the delays we've been experiencing have been related to an intent (on Alienware's part) to ship with updated WinXP OS's, incorporating SP2.

Any confirmation?

All the info you could want....
Windows SP2

You can find out which version you have by typing winvr in the command prompt (in case someone didn't know how).

No; speculating- the seemingly sudden release of a lot of orders, juxtaposed with the just-this-past-weekend release of SP2 got me thinking. Especially since the OEM's would (presumably) have it a little in advance.

I'd really rather *not* download that sucker. Of course, I won't install it on my current machine for a couple of months anyway, till most of the bugs and conflicts are resolved.

SP2 has been available for download for the last 6 months. This is the final version that has the bugs worked out of it.

i hope mine comes with SP2.......101mb downloads dont mix well with dial-up connections
