nope, I really don't want to take anything below 2,000. especially when you consider the accessories i'm including. Between College and an Engagement ring, I need some money and a lot of it fast.

Tell me what you guys think of this, i got three questions about my laptop all simular. Here's the first, the other two are simular but mention forign countries (Spain and Africa):

What do you think, smells like a scam to me...

Well.... Western Union money orders are pretty safe...
But... if something does go wrong, there is 0 fraud protection from them...


My advise, stay away from ANY international shipments like that....


Or request that the money needs to physically be in your hand before the item is shipped.

SCAMS!!! Do not send to anyone from outside the U.S. Also, don't ship until the money is in your account!! I've had a lot of dealing with Ebay, and this is the newest string of scams. I get at least 4 or 5 everytime I sell a computer on Ebay.

Scam. This one is so common. You get a Western Union confirmation, but it's cancelled before you get your money, because it was created on a stolen credit card.

It's a shame. At one time money orders were the "safe" way of doing business on Ebay. No longer. Unless it's a U.S. postal money order that you have in your possession, you are at risk. The international aspect of the transaction complicates matters as well. On big-ticket items I will not sell internationally.

I've been using PayPal since its inception, and am closing in on 1000 transactions on Ebay. I still have to be ever-vigilant when doing business online, and view every purchase/sale as a source of fraud. That may sound paranoid, but being cautious is prudent. To date I've only been dinged once, and that was for $8.00.

*sigh*

Humans suck.

I'd be interested in your laptop but honestly if I was to configure a new 5690 on pctorque, it'd be about 2k with the same stuff you have so you might wanna consider going down on the price

Configured from PC Torque a new 5690 with the same configuration goes for $2300, not counting the accessories i'm throwing in (Kensington Pocket Mouse Pro Wireless, and Laptop Desk V.2.0 with MouzPad, spare power cord). If the user wishes I will also throw in a fresh install of Windows XP with all drivers and run all updates. I'll install a firewall and antivirus if the buyer so wishes aswell. If anyone's interested I'll consider offers below $2000 but I won't sell below $1800, so please don't ask.

I know, it's one of those things where if I can sell it for good money I'll sell it but if not i'll keep it and be happy with it. I was hoping to get 2000 because like i said before i need money to put in the engagement ring fund.
