For Christ's sake you are gonna spend 2K on a laptop and 10-20 bucks is gonna make a difference? PCTorque is one of three great vendors (DL and powernotebooks being the other two) I would go for any day any time, even if I have to pay 100 or more compared to other sites (and I am a student so every buck counts for me). By going with these three I am buying something called "peace of mind" which over 3 years or so is well worth 100-150 more.
It is only a plus that these 3 vendors sell at pretty low prices compared to the competition so my peace of mind is virtually for free.

Main reason I bought another laptop from them is that they didn't try to screw me when I returned the 8790 I bought from them. It was $3500+ and they processed the return and got my money back with no restocking fees. Plus they ship fast, answer emails fast, and are overall just great to deal with.

I'm looking at DiscountLaptops because of their warranty options, the onsite service and paid shipping both ways if needed is very tempting seeing as I'm up in Canada. Does anyone have any experience with their warranty service compared to Warrentech?

still waiting for that review....

Man, what gives? It's half-way into August and no review yet.....did the laptop just never come, or is there some other thread everyone moved to?

BTW, I'm Nuri, and I'm new. I've been hunting for a laptop for almost a year and a half now, and have almost settled for the Sager 3790, but need some sort of confirmation from SOMEONE that it's worth it.

Please?....

In part, my delay has been monitarily driven, but mostly I've held out this long because I really don't want to be disappointed. I'd like a machine powerful enough to sustain me for at least a little while, and that can still handle graphically thick games and CAD programs. It doesn't need to be near top of the line forever (obviously), but I need it to be able to hold its own for a while.
I'm actually glad I've spent as much time on this as I have; I'm glad to have found out about brands like Sager. There are too many crap companies out there to not do the research before buying.

Check out the review. It has pretty high stock clock speeds for an ati 9700!

Which review are you referring to?
the rather popular 3790 review. 4000+ views the first day!

<grin> What I meant to ask was, where might I find this blessed review?
nevermind. apparently in my year and a half of researching (roughly), I've lost the will to thoroughly search anymore.....or even lightly search. <sigh> I hope to be done soon.

Thanks guys, I found it a while ago. Took me until just now to read all of it (well, multiple threads, to be fair).
