I ID'd the device in my first 8790 review. You can check there.

Run TweakXP. It noticeably sped up my computer - especially cutting down on startup/shutdown times. Be sure to read the documentation, as it tells you what each item does and whether or not it's right for you.

Doom 3 requires the latest ATI drivers to work properly. Use the Omega Drivers 4.5 or use the updated Sager video drivers on Sager's Tech Support page. Use google or the forum search to find it.

I am successfully using the Mitsumi D353FUE Smart Disk USB floppy drive (also see: FDUSB-TM2).

The computing world can tell us that floppy drives are obsolete, but its still the only way to load drivers at Window's Install.

Dark Prophet,

It's a TD-8U10 drive.

Here is the link to the PDF document that containes the specifications or the drive.

http://www.dpninc.com/pdf/usb_floppy.pdf

Have fun. Looks OK and from what I used of it works OK.
Me thinks that you didn't look too well.

thanks

It hard to look for a FDD or a floppy drive if it's listed as a "Drive"...
but I got the info from another member the problem with the drive you guys are using it's a OEM. But the drive is resold under other names Mitsumi D353FUE Smart Disk USB floppy drive (also see: FDUSB-TM2).
look out for the SP2 update!! thanks.

i went to the sager site, and downloaded the new drivers, and doom runs flawlessly on high with all the extras on...

I ran 3dmark03 OC'd not too much, got 36xx... temp never went over 46. When 3dmark closed, all my icons lost their pictures. Like doom3 is that red circle, well its just a white box now... Recyclin bin used to be a bin, now its a white box. Aol used to be the big A, now its a white box... etc.... i tried a restart 2x, and it did nothing.
Even if i click start, all the icons in there have no pictures as well... their all just those white boxs... does anyone have any idea WTF happened????

i wish i could post a picture, but i dont see the option on the bottom of the page.... if my description makes no sence, and you dont know what im talking baout, let me know so i can retry to explain what i mean .. thanks

If you have norton SystemWorks try running WinDoctor, I've found that it usually fixes most icon problems.
