That is correct

Is it just me, or are the eyes blue in one of the pictures. So im guessing the colors change like the 51. That's cool, but I like my green eyes

Power Cinema is stripped down linux for media play?

Does this mean that the hard drive is partitioned for linux as dual boot as well?

I like that feature!

I did notice the blue eyes.
I wonder if it does have options in bios to control the eyes.
That is my question. Is there a partition already or do I have to do it? I will try and get back to everyone in a few...

OK. I am back from the dark side... I put the Power Cinema disc in the disc drive and restarted. It wants to partition and boot directly off of the disc. That is fine and all but the warning messages of permanent disc destruction is scary. I think I will read more about it. Has anyone used it? Can we create a thread about its use and install if someone has?

if the laptop is new and you do not have data that binds you to the current settings, go for it! :-)

Received my Sentia today. I've been nothing short of impressed with this baby...

So is the only difference bettwen the new Sentia and the Battalion 101 slim series the screen with the alien eyes? Would it be at all possible to get a hold of just the screen with the eyes from alienware?

There is gota be a way to get a case from alienware, or possibly a new LCD screen.

Does Alienware sell refurbs?

Wow that power cinema deal is pretty sweet. I was really excited to get my lappy not knowing about that or the cool display everyone seems to be talking about. I really cant wait to get my laptop, its suppsed to be here on the 18th according to fedex so hopefully there right. I have been working all summer for this laptop and i sure hope its what i want, i think it will be, cuz this sure was a lot of money to pull out of a 16 year old guys wallet. Well i will have lots of pics as soon as i get it. Ill be putting ram in right away so ill get some pictures of that all taken apart and what not.

I gotta get myself some RAM. Been thinking about it, but never got around to actually ordering it. I think I'll do that now
post #32 of 38
let me know who you order it from, and how much it cost. Im going to be doing the same thing.

Did you get Corsair? What size?

I have been contemplating getting another stick to fill my empty slot to take it up to 1gig. I have never had a pc over 512 though. Will I notice differences? The only demanding application I use is photoshop and the occational game.

BTW, I don't have many games anymore but UT2003 looks sweet as hell on this screen. It runs perfect with all settings at high with shadows, trilinear, etc. but putting settings at "highest" will put you out of commission! High is good enough for me and it looks great.

sounds good thanks for the help!

Picked up a stick of corsair 512mb 200 pin pc-2700 from newegg for 90 bucks. Well, given that xp uses up nearly 256mb of ram at times, the extra 512 can make all the difference in the world.

I am actually considering even 1gb. Does anyone know of a good place to get good and cheap memory for our Sentias? I tried pricewatch but there are some sketchy vendors on there.
