So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review.
As what I primarily do is writing and programming, having a good keyboard is critical for me, which is why a tablet alone can’t work for me, and...
I have owned dozens of laptops in a variety of brands, and had many different laptops provided for my use at work. Without question, this is the finest I have owned. The Alienware M17x R2 is a...
Lenovo Thinkpad W530 Review

One of the longest and most enduring brands in computers is Thinkpad. Originally developed by IBM in the USA, Thinkpad notebook computers are now...
Originally posted by gsferrari Since when did the 56XX series have a 2 HDD capability?? they've listed a 2nd HDD bracket there - where do you put it? Outside?
hmm did they mess up or what? Isnt the 8887 a 5 spindle design? it lists on the specs for the new model 7 spindle design???? do we need 2 more spots in the 888x series?
if so this does mean you could have 2 media drives and 4 harddrives right easily right?

looks like motherboard will have the internet integrated.. I noticed it's not realtek and now intel 865g
Looks like there is no question that the Mobility 9600 is shipping......can anyone translate this site a little better than Google to find out if its Pro or standard?
Ok, my mistake, I will NOT be getting the first mobility 9600 that ships...
But I will also not wait till September either. And to answer your question, no. There starting to come out now. Give it another week or two and they'll show up. As for sager specifically, not sure. Some say july or later. Which for a top of the line base notebook seller suprises me, but there may be reasons.
July or after July is the date folks, why it isn't shipping now like other notebook sellers is because they aren't just upgrading the video card, it's almost the whole damn thing, besides, 3.2 ghz processors aren't out yet, dual ddrram on a laptop? hardware raid? Guys, by they time they are taking all this to the laptop market...i mean, clevo is just incredible, they are turning desktops into laptops
Until someone actually has a laptop with the m10 in their hands I just consider this pre-order/pre-sales info/hype. So if someone actually gets one of these post up your results
some people are so misinformed.. people on dell forums are saying that only the chassis of alienwares and sagers have been the same till now and the internal electronics are different..... LOL, course this is dell forums too...
I thought I should point out something interesting. When you click on the specifications link for either the 5680 or the 8888, on the top it says the release date is
AUGUST 1 2003. Seems slightly better then September.

Am I looking at something wrong?
not sure.. the tablet pc that is listed as a release of sept 10th says on specs page june 1st.....not sure if we should trust any of those date...
Read this once from Anandtech... shows that 800fsb and stuff won't be around for a long time yet for mobile systems.
"The other thing to keep in mind is that the mobile platforms will not receive the new 800MHz FSB, nor will they receive derivatives of the new chipsets (865/875) anytime soon - thus the 3.2GHz Mobile Pentium 4 is still a 533MHz part. For battery life, the 3.2GHz Mobile Pentium 4 is probably going to be one of the worst choices to make - but for the target market of desktop replacements, battery life isn't a major concern."

As stated in the other thread:
I believe they're referring to the actual mobile 800fsb chipset which from last accounts probably won't be out til the end of the year. Remember, the clevo/sager line is using the desktop springdale chipset which is probably in testing soon if not already by clevo.
Originally posted by Kasteo I believe FireGL is much more powerful than the Pro version in the professional graphics work, but might be on par or a bit slower in gaming.... FireGL is designed for professional graphics task not game.
FireGL is just as good in games as any of the cards it's based on (say right now the desktop 9800 pro and the latest Fire GL are equal in gaming but the Fire GL has extra guts to run 3D apps better).
Just as good for games, plus better for 3D apps == BETTER CARD. This is a huge issue for some of us. If the 5680 doesn't have one but the 8888 does, the 8888 gets the $$ from me
This article here from the guys who breath ATI have an article from a past FireGL chipset that indicates that ATI designates "FireGL" as only the highest end of their line while still catering to CAD people by creating drivers that take advantage of it:
Could be that Eurocom just slapped "FireGL" instead of PRO for marketing. I have worked on only laptops for the last five years, and every FireGL version was only only from the corporate laptops, they played the games and they did the apps. Looking at Euro's specs and the fact that ATI is only making 2 9600 chipsets
D500P just says 9600 while the D800P says 9600 FireGL -> its obvious to me = PRO
The Pro cards and the fireGL cards are 99.5% identical regarding hardware. The differences are a slight change in the ROM to identify them as being different and different drivers which offer high end features for CAD (dual planes, fsaa with wireframes etc)
The fireGLs also have options for more RAM, but that makes zippo difference in games.
