The 7200 60gb should be warmer than the 80gb 5400, simply because the 7200 is spinning at a faster speed. The difference on the outside of the laptop and probably on system life is nil - due to the fact that the temperature difference is probably a couple of degrees and the fact that unless you're doing "Harddrive intense activity," the HD will probably never run hard and long enough for you to notice... now the CPU and GPU... those get hot.
80gb is more dense than the 60gb so data will be fetched at about the same rate therefore they will spin about the same period of time, but if you were to compare a 60gb 5400 to a 60gb 7200 the 5400 would be felt to be warmer just because it will be spinning for a longer period of time thus letting the metal warm up and letting you feel the pain. the 7200 will be done spinning in very little time thus have time to cool before it spins really fast again.
