Looking for a laptop cooler for my 4750

i just got a 4750!!! and now im lookin for a laptop cooler, now this is a very big laptop, being that its 17", and i've searched A LOT on these boards without even registering for a cooler, and people talk about the antec a lot, the vantec lapcool1 and 2 (i cant seem to find the 2 online at all), and the bytecc

there are more out there, but these are the only 3 ive seen people talk about on the boards, anyway, ive heard great things about the bytecc, but the guy complained it wasnt big enough for his 15" screen (maybe something was weird, idk)

so i was was wondrering if anyone has experience with any coolers with their laptops?

honestly, i kinda have my mind set on the lapcool 2, but i cant find it anywhere, so i could get the lapcool1 which also looks great, i just want to know if anyone has good experiences with it, where to buy it from, and if theres somethin better out there for my 4750.

well guys, this is my first post on the boards, and i hope to enjoy this laptop for years and these forums for years. thanks for listenin to my post

You may want to apply as5 as well. As for coolers if you get one, post the differences with and without one using mobile meter. I'm in the same boat as you. I eventually will probably get a laptop cooler, but not many people have it yet.

congrats on your new 4750 and welcome to the forums!

I've been looking for a cooler for my 4750 too, and I don't think there are any coolers specifically designed for 17" laptops. The normal ones work fine, but I'm patiently waiting for one that'll fit my 4750.

Maybe this will help>

BTW, i still couldn;t find a shop

it seems that the CoolMax's hub is only usb 1.1, but I might be just mislead. When this hub is connected to a USB 2.0 laptop, will the hub operate at usb 2.0 speeds? or will it perform at 1.1?

Antec

Look on slickdeals.net. Go to forums and lookup Antec. There is a deal for $19.95 for this ANtec cooler. After my searching it seems to be the best available. Hope this helps ya.

i read about the antec one, and it looks good, but im concerned if it will fit my laptop, plus a user on these boards.. i think his name is "wazzup" said he only noticed a 2 degree celsius difference

The antec one raises your laptop by about an inch. I much prefer to raise only the back of the laptop. This way natural circulation will do a lot of the work.

I'm also in the market for a cooler, and the Bytecc one looks the best to me right now. But the other factor that I take into consideration is the noise. I would prefer to have it nearly silent, and for that I'll probably swap out a fan or two for silent panaflos because while 25 db maybe fine for normal day work, I would like my laptop to be on in the bedroom at night sometimes, and 25 dbA is not at all silent.

Take a pack of the Radio Shack 1/2 inch rubber feet - place one on top of the other and then place the four "stacked" feet on the rear of the Antec. Works nicely (I also used a couple (8) of the 1/4 inch feet on the fron. Nice slope for typeing and does wonders for ar flow. (Costs about $3 or less).

I just ordered the heat pipe cooler, should be getting here soon. I like the idea of a silent cooler and I'm tired of propping up my machine with books.

I've read RAVE reviews about the Antec Notebook Cooler.

but it has 2 fans... I'm wondering if more fans the better... I've seen similar coolers that look more generic that have 3 fans and even 4 fans.

I read the antec one lowers the temp by about 10 degrees Celsius... But I read that a 3 fan cooler lowered the temperature by 16 degrees C and had a greater volume of airflow.

Antec has about 32cfm of Airflow, and the 3 Fan one has 40cfm...
and the 4fan one has 55cfm!!!

Wouldn't it make sense that more airflow = cooler?

I'm really looking forward to finally making a decision on one of these coolers...and getting it for my new Acer Ferrari 3200 laptop.

This is my first post. I'm so glad that such a place as this exists!

isn't that the plastic thing that holds the laptop at an angle?

I have the antec cooler for my 4750, and there is no differece in temperatures really. I wouldnt suggest it at all. Im thinking of returning it and getting the targus one.
