Is this a good score on my laptop?

yep its great, anything above 25000 is a good score, urs is pretty much standard for an 51M

I had:
27,650 on the XPS I sent back
and
31,358 on the Sager I have now.

Both had 3.4, 60GB 7200, 1024 Dual, ATI 9700 w/ stock 7.97 drivers
So that sounds good

The Sager comes clocked a little higher than most 499/297, which probably accounts for a large part of the difference.

This was also fresh off of a new OS install, so that probably made them a little higher as well
