Wow. That monitor looks great. I almost bought one, but I wrote Maximum PC and they told me it wasn't good for gaming. Far Cry looks pretty good on it. What's your experience?
That monitor looks awsome, is it worth the money? Im looking into buying a new screen and that Apple 23" has come up a few times. Is it good or bad?

Thanks and hello everyone, the cinema display is simply great for gaming imo you get widescreen for one thing and from what I have played like farcry, call of duty, UT2k4, Halflife, doom3, etc. its been a totaly different experience than my crt. Most games well at least most new ones that will be coming out ( Halflife2 ) will be best played in widescreen it also can do 1920x1200 res if you have the card to do it. Playing farcry on this monitor is something else. I see so many more thing now in this game then i ever did with my crt. This thing has a 16ms response time and is very sharp and bright. I was always told that crt's are better for gaming, therefore I never bought an lcd however I saw the specs on this thing and plus I had been wanting to switch over to widescreen gaming, and I had heard good things about this monitor being better than a crt now in most cases, so I decided to give it a shot.....Im extremely happy I did.

Thanks for making me even more jealous . I do have a 22" Mitsubishi Diamondtron Diamond Pro 2070 though, so I'm not that bad off.

No. From the research I did, they say that CRTs are better for gaming than LCDs. The 22" Mitsubishi was the best performer I could find for the price. My girlfriend really fell in love with that Apple 23" monitor when she saw it in CompUSA. She was going to buy it, but I wanted to make sure it worked great with the gaming at that price ($2,000 + $100 adapter + tax). I made posts all over and tried to search for anyone that had one and was a gamer. I had no luck. So I fired off an email to Maximum PC and asked them about it. They told me it wasn't great for games. The final blow was when she found out that not all games will fill the whole screen (especially the Sims which she plays). I like my monitor allot, but I wouldn't mind seeing games on that screen you've got. How's the refresh rate on it? Is the framerate in gaming always smooth?....not that I'm in the market to buy one after throwing down 4,500 + on my new Alienware.

Well this is the new model all aluminum, you dont need an adapter with the new model its comes ready to equip to a pc. Since Im using all dvi I dont have a refresh rate, so far all framrates are very smooth no problems and in all honesty my games seem to be running alot better fps wise.

Yes, yours is a newer model than the one I was looking at. Cool deal man!

yes it does It looks great to me I dont know alot about monitors, well not a whole lot I havnt noticed anything unusual or bad about it...like I said erlier its a whole new experience compared to the crt I had diamondtron vx920 which isnt all that bad itself, my apple is quite a bit brighter and shaper looking than the crt other than that I dont know what to look for to compare it just looks better IMO!

I want one! I want one! I want one, NoW!!!
That display is sooo chill. Apple always produces the sexiest industrial-sheik designs. If I order one, I will have to order a 20-inch with my edu. discount for $1,169. I am not sure though, is a reasonal price or premium price for this display? Can I save $100s of dollars if i go with a similiar display?

BTW... I heard their were some heat issues with display. Any symptoms???
