Here's my hookup on your advice....

You guys got anymore suggestions as to how I could improve this hookup? Remember I'm leaving for school in 10 days so the new hookup will be a lot "cleaner." I realize that it looks ghetto right now...

I'm just wondering this. Is your picture really blurry on the tv? If it's not, then what did you do to make it look good? I can't seem to get a clean picture on my tv, it always looks really blurry and gross.

Well its slightly blurry when I'm just on the windows screen. However, I changed the aspect of the TV and it looked a little better. Then I started to play Joint Ops, and the picture of the game is clean as hell. It's not HD quality, but its damn near as good as the monitor. I would recommend fooling with the different aspects of your TV.

Gotcha. Any computer settings you made to get the picture to work?

Not really... Besides changing my monitor settings from the highest, (1280x1240 i think) to 1224x768 when I'm playing Joint Ops.

is Doom 3 really that great? I like 1st person shooters, but I was never a huge fan of the original Doom...

Lemme put it this way man. The first Doom was pretty good, but not the best. This doom is just damn scary. If you play it in the dark, with good high sound, and alone, you will **** yourself. From what I've played, it's well thought out, has freakish lighting, and has some scary as **** sound. You owe it to your machine to buy this game and play it start to finish.

wow. if its that highly recommended, I will be at Best Buy tomorrow...
Trust me, it is. But if you buy it tomorrow, you CANNOT play it until it gets dark. Basically, go get it tomorrow, then read the note on the back of the keyboard map thing. You have to follow it to get the full experience.

Alex,

Thanks for setting that up! It looks amazing...and take Daeg's advice...do NOT play doom3 until its dark out and you can either turn that sound system up to 11 or put on a nice set of headphones...insta-poopy-in-yur-panties!

I love Doom 3 , just keep in mind that you have to heavily tweak it to get the best performance. Check out this thread for help.

Doom 3 Tweak Instructions

Daegras, first youll want to download my Doom Tweaks from here.
Then unzip the folder to your desktop, and place the Autoexec.cfg in your Doom 3 base folder. This will load all the tweaks I have on my system when you boot Doom 3, but won't mess with the Doom.cfg file, so if you need to revert back to your old settings for some reason just remove the Autoexec.cfg from the base folder. You'll also need winrar to open up the doom3PerformanceTweak.rar and extract it to the Doom 3 base folder(it is a shader file for ATI cards that improves performance). The instuctions for editing the interaction.vfp file(which is found in C:/Program Files/Doom 3/base/pak000.pk4/glprogs and controls the shaders used in Doom 3) are included in the .zip(just open up the viewtopic.php.html file).
Enjoy!

BTW, there is a tweak in the Autoexec.cfg file so that if you press F10, the FPS counter will pop up; pressing F11 makes it go away. Also, keep in mind that when you run in Ultra High Quality, the com_cachemegs tweak does not work because that cache is used for compressed textures/images and everything is uncompressed in Ultra High.
Try typing 'timedemo demo1 usecache' in the console before and after the tweaks; b4 I was getting 26.6 FPS on 800x600 medium settings and after overclocking and tweaking I am getting 36 FPS at 1024x768 on Ultra High settings.

Only thing that worries me is your desktop is kinda close to the edge of the table, one wrong move and ouch, dead Alien.
