well, the goons part was fully affectionate.

Yeah I took a risk on cyberpower. I know i'll get the laptop, and I know i can cancel it if it takes three months to get here. About the only thing I'm risking is crappy service, pretty much.

I ordered one from Mwave last week, according to fedex it should arrive Wed. If it lives up to my expectations this could finally be the machine that meets my needs.

Yeah.

The form for billing used the wrong name for the credit card, so the order got rejected. I called up Cyberpower and the guy told me that I should buy it from somewhere else as they are backordered until the end of October -- so I also ordered it from Mwave now.

Dunno when the estimated ship date is though.

They sent it out 48 hours after I put the order through. I am eagerly tracking on FEDEX now.

Keep us up to date. A few of us are looking at that little thing.....

I'm really anxious to get more info on this laptop. I'a trying to hold myself off from buying one till I get more information from people who actually have it. I was considering ordering from MWAVE also. Please as soon as any of you get some information send me a private message. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS

Cyberpower is suffering from major issues right now...everything is backordered and the wait is killer. Which makes me happy i re-ordered from ibuypower because it should ship by next thursday which is 15 days after I put in the order...nice eh?

The difference between ground shipping and two day air was like $9 from Mwave. $35 compared to $26 i think... so I paid it.

thinking about it, I should have paid the extra $9 for overnight air too. I'm impatient

Er... you should have gone with overnight if it was only $19 more. I don't think $19 makes much of a difference when you already spent more than $1300 on a laptop. Either way, keep us posted.

ya i went overnight

was only $1100. this baby's pretty cheap too, but that's because of the integrated graphics (cry).

to be honest I don't know if Mwave even puts the processor/memory/hard drive in for you or not.

I upgraded my shipping to overnight for $9.16.

Should be getting it thursday

Is there any warranty difference between ordering from mwave or ibuypower? Looks like a solid deal but I hope to hear more impressions on build quality before ordering.

Just got it!!! from MWAVE. It looks real cool. Even though outside is plastic it looks better than my dell 8600. The inside, screen and keyboard looks real cool. (Black trackpad is sharp!). Going to install WinXP then maybe post some pics (i have a lousy webcam but should get the idea). It may have the manual on the utilities CD but I can't read it without on OS on it. However I downloaded it from www.uniwill.com on my desktop.

How sturdy does it feel, is much flexing anywhere? I'm just hoping it will hold up to a little bit of abuse.

I have a dell 8600 which creaks if you open it move it whatever. This is totally silent. Feels sturdy. It is interesting that the screen displays text and icons the same size as the Dell WSXGA+ (1600x1080 or something like that) and equally clear but obviously with less real estate. The speakers are amazingly good. I can't believe how good this seems for the price.

I got 1.7mhz Centrino, 60gb HD 5400, 512mb ram (and I added 1gb 333mhz ram). the drive is toshiba MK6026GAX which is 5400 (thank goodness), However the ram is PC2100 - this sucks. I will buy another piece of DDR333 as I need 1.5gb ram for what I run. THe ram is APACER CL2. Good news is that specs I saw somewhere indicated it would only take 2 512mb pieces, but with one 1gb piece and one 512mb piece it recognizes the RAM. Took a peak at CPU and it is definitely new 1.7ghz (735). Overall this is awesome. since I paid 1170 including shipping (not including extra 1gb ram piece).
