I need to replace my 4 year-old IBM T20. I want a durable, proven lightweight notebook with a 14.1" screen and integrated wireless. It will be my primary system for the next 3+ years. I won't be gaming or doing much multimedia stuff.

I've pretty much narrowed it down to the IBM T42 and the panasonic Y2. Obviously the two big differences are weight and cost. I frequently work long days in front of my notebook, so a comfortable keyboard is a must. I've never seen a Panasonic live.

I'm willing to pay the extra premium for the Panasonic if it doesn't offer any significant disadvantages.

Any advice on this choice?
