What the?

I Benchmarked my Alienware last week, and its score was 5483. Now it is 3986.

I havent done much to my comp lately.

Heres specs.

-Intel 4.0 with HT
-1Gig of RAM
-Nvidia GeForce 5900 128MB
-80 Gig Harddrive

I did get an older driver for my AW from AW, because the newest one was messing up my resolution. Could that be it? I still dont see why it knocked me down 1500 Poins.

Any ideas?

well i'll go through the basics so someone else doesn't have too...

make sure no unnecessary programs are running, and run the benchmark after a fresh reboot (i use winpatrol to see whats running)

make sure you dont have any spyware or adware running (using spybot search and destory and adawar 6.0)

Reinstall the previous driver to see if your score boosts back up (just to see if that was it or not)

oh and if you ahve powerplay make sure that the clock settings are correct, powerplay frequently changes settings on my system for no reason and i'm constantly fixing it..

There's a 4.0Ghz processor?!

I find that it is best to run benchmarks after a nice few hours of it being off. If you were doing some heavy Doom 3, rebooted and benchmarked it would likely be less than stellar.

there is a 4ghz chip, check out the ALX desktop config section on the AW site.

That's a 3.6Ghz overclocked to 4.0Ghz in the ALX configuration.

Either 3.8EE or Take away 700$ and u get a 4ghz

even thought the 2mb 3rd cache will be such a performance booster
