Pixel Line on Right side of screen?

I have had my 8886 for about a week or so and I am noticing a line that runs from the top right to the bottom right side of the screen it is approx 1/4" from the side. I did find a quick fix but I'm not sure this is normal and if its not what do I need to do to fix it...

Just because I know other will want to know what the quick fix is... here you go... place your thumb on the top right corner of the case and pointer finger on the opposite side and press lightly and the line goes away.

Please help with what ever info you can.

Thanks

With an LCD screen, I'm assuming one of the connections got knocked slightly loose along that section along the top and thus is being displayed as black until you squeezed it. I imagine it is simply a matter of it having been loose and you fixed it. LCD screens have that problem sometimes. My current one flickered a whole bunch until I tightened the connecter for it... It's just an expensive and fragile part, lol. If it returns, and the quick fix doesn't help, I would be concerned... If it returns and the quick fix continues to help, I would say the connection is loose and gets knocked loose when you move it and gets pushed back when you squeeze. In that case, I might let someone at tech support know. If it doesn't return, then it was a loose connection that you fixed :-) These are from my experiences... if someone has a different idea, post away! I hope it doesn't return though and good luck! Let us know!

No, that's not normal at all! You should call the Sager tech line and tell them about it to see if you can get an RMA# for a free replacement. If you're still having the problem they'll take care of you.

Hi Guys! Thanks for all the quick posts!

I will give Sager a call today. The problem pixils does come back every other time I start hte computer up so I guess I would prefer to have this working the "right" way.

Thanks for all your help

Lol, yeah, if it has come back at all then you should definitely get the RMA number... My statement earlier was based on an experience here where a friend got a line flickering in and out on his screen and he pushed on it and it was gone. It hasn't come back in 2 months and he did take it to tech support but they said there was nothing wrong (so I suppose the pressure fixed it). GOod luck with getting it repaired! Let us know how it goes!

Thanks for all the support guys!

now I have a question... since this is under the 30 days do I still have to pay shipping to sager? Also can i keep my hard drive since I have it all loaded already?

What are your experiences with this?

From what I have read on other posts, you will have to pay shipping one way and they will likely let you keep the hard drive if you just tell them to swap it. PCTorque (or anyone with experience with this) can confirm/deny. Good luck!

Yes, they don't take exception to the warranty shipping policy. If you bought it through us, email me with the order number and I'll try and help.
