I just got back from the local UPS station with my i9100. Needless to say, I tore open the box as fast as I could to get to the shiny new laptop! Specs are as follows:
Pentium 4, 3.2ghz HT
1GB 400mhz DDR Memory
60gb 7200rpm HDD
ATI Mobility Radeon 9800 256mb
WUXGA
I was expecting to see a laptop so huge that I would have to mount wheels on the bottom of it to make it mobile, but I found quite the opposite. Maybe it is due to the fact that I have only handled large, chunky IBM laptops in the past, but I, in no way, think the i9100 is huge.
I fired it up quicly got into Windows. First things first, the LCD is GORGEOUS. The WUXGA is possibly the most crisp screen I have ever seen. After doing copious amounts of research regarding what screen to chose, I went with the WUXGA, and I cannot be happier (I would like to thank members of the forum and the DELL mods for helping me choose the right screen). The DPI was automatically set to 120, and I was immediately satisfied with 1900x1200. Anyone out there wondering about WUXGA and if it is too small, I think that it is perfect with a higher DPI setting, especially if you like to have multiple windows open at once.
So far I have just been setting up Wi-Fi and browsing the internet, and I have yet to test out the Mobility 9800, that will come later tonight
On a side note, I really love the i9100 keyboard, it makes me realize how crappy my desktop keyboard was.
I will take some pictures and post them tomorrow, as well as fresh benchmarks with the 9800 using the Omega drivers. I also bought the Jansport PC Port, Laptop Specific Backpack. I will also post pictures of that, it is a great fit!
Overall, thanks for the suggestions and comments everyone in this forum has offered, I think I made a good purchase
