Nushiled! That's the only thing I keep thinking of when ever I see a laptop screen now... a member of hte forums here has a very decked out 5690, with Vanguard Case, NuShield Screen Protector, everything :P

I havn't contacted NuShield yet to see if they'd do a custom size for the 3790 (15.4") Screen.... But I'm pretty sure it's possible....

Thank you, I was just looking it up to edit my post with I was going to add links too... but since then, I've had to reset my computer and am too lazy to go back and look it up again...

On a different note with the battery:

You can see it proped up

Battery View....

Personally, I think it's not only great for the extra battery life, but for the added "pitch" for typing, and better ventilation.... Not too bad.... and looking at the size of it, I don't think it's going to wobble, unless you're pretty heavy on the right or left side..... Considering people even pay for things that prop up thier laptop, and have no additional functionality....

Hey Construct, Did your 3790 come with any programs?
CaptainAl,
I've already contacted NuShield. They don't do custom screen protectors. However, they are working on a product to fit the Dell Inspiron, 15.4" Widesceens and sent me a free sample to test it for them on the 3790 when I receive it. It's sitting on my desk right now. Of course, if it fits, they'll add the Sager 3790 to their list of supported laptops. At any rate, you and anyone else out there who might be interested in getting a NuShield for thier lappy should go to their home page www.nushield.com and send their support staff an email re: support for the 3790 like I did. There may be many more folks NuShield would be willing to send free samples out to.
I'll post here how the product works for my 3790 as soon as UPS brings it tomorrow.

Well that will be the deciding factor for me...
If the NuShield works out, I will find a way to get a 3790...

1. Yes, very stable. The battery attaches very solidly to the computer. It's also very easy to swap batteries. In fact, I really like the way it elevates the back of the computer. It's easier to type that way.

2. Plastic. It feels very solid. You can warp anything with enough pressure, but I feel confident in the construction of this laptop. Keep in mind that I have very little experience with laptops, however.

3. Fully charged 6-cell unplugged at 11:15 my time, playing a movie in the background while I work.

Just out of curiosity Construct.. what movie you playing? oh by the way.. the battery life is probably going to be the only thing that makes my dad want to buy the 3790 i think he is sold on the cl56 :S i hope this baby will work well!! woo hoo!

Thanks Construct,
Have you tried to put the 3790 in the standart carry case with the 12-cell in the lappy? If yes, how does it fit in there?

Sound Quality from the headphone port.... I remember my 8790 had a HORRIBLE screetching noise from the headphone port....
I'm in between headphones right now. My Audio Technica A900s should be here next week, along with the Indigo DJ. Expect a comparison then.

Chigga,
how the hell is your daddy gonna know what the battery life of the Sager is if you will be using the laptop? Just curious?
Can't you just make something up, I mean it is gonna be a matter of an hour or so difference between the CL56 and 6-cell 3790?
Think man, think. If you really wanna get the 3790 think of something.

@construct
is your lappy on the table all the time or did you lay it on a soft uneven surface too? i am thinking of the extra vents at the bottom... besides, how often do the fans run?

But I have a question about the system...

Viewing Angles on the screen?! How are they top to bottom?!
NOTE: I have the WUXGA.

Consider it fine for any reasonable viewing angle. You'd have to be at a fairly awkward angle to notice any serious shift in the colors on the screen. Someone sitting next to you will be able to view the screen just fine.

Oh yeah,
I forgot about the fan noise. Can you hear them when they start spinning?
Thanks and sorry about burying you with questions.
so... has the battery died yet?
it's almost exactly 2:20 since unplugging

One more: What you were using when reached this battery life time?

Thank you.

PS.: Being the first (I think) to post the review for a new model comes with a hard task: answer endless questions... be prepared...
The laptop is very stable with the 12-cell. I put it in last night to take those pictures and completely forgot it was there. As I mentioned earlier I really like the elevated typing position it offers. The supports are about 3/8" in the back and smaller up front, to give the laptop a slight forward angle. They are not adjustable. My friend (with his 3760, same case) and don't find them annoying at all. I had my laptop on my lap several times last night and didn't even notice them.

Screen of choice Just curious, because it's always hard to buy these things and not be able to see the screen first hand. Glad to hear it! I bet that resolution is nice... Curious now about gaming on that res though...
