Thanks and sorry about burying you with questions.
Under what conditions? Like I said, with some low-level music and my noisy computer in the room, I have to put my hand by the exhaust to see if the fan is on or not. You can definitely hear it in a very quiet room, it's not dead silent, but it's not what I would call loud either.

Fobish,
congrats on the new lappy. Please try to get it up and running quickly cause Construct is under a heavy load being the only one with a 3790.

According to the name of this thread it say Sager 3790 Review! That sounds pretty official and upended to me. I think multiple reviews can be fit in this thread. Actually I don't think this needs to be stickied since its been consitently at the top of the reviews!

There are others with them... but they aren't as nice as these guys to devote time to answering us and our infinate questions!

(Hey Mayaman, remember, I said, at least 10 pages as soon as everybody at work got on the forums! )

Have a wireless set up!? Curious how well and how far wireless signal will go with the 3790.
Comcast, actually. It was an area-wide outage. I had to drive to a friend's house to post this review last night.

The wireless is very good. It has no problem connecting to my network, or my neighbor's network across the street (with his permission).

@fobishduck

have you used other laptops before and can you compare the 3790 to them regarding built quality, fan noise etc ? (have to post my question before his formatting is over... )

So.. Construct.. you've had it for a few days.. do you think it's worth the money?

Remake. I'll try and take some good pictures later. The earlier ones were very rushed because I was desperately trying to find a way to post the review.

Well, without the desktop on and no music in the background. I mean just a normal situation without any excessive noise around.
As for the conditions, can you see a diffrence between gaming/DVD playback and just surfing the Net/word processing.
I have had an Asus M6 and the fan was dead silent even during DVD play. Never really heard the thing spin.

What about the battery usage, if i get a 1.7 dothan will that give me more batterylife over a 2.0 dothan 3790?

What kind of mouse are you using USB? bluetooth?

Chigga
The internal camera works, but it does need a good amount of light. It isn't smooth, but it's suitable for webcam style usage.

A slower processor should give you slightly more battery time than a faster one, but don't expect a huge increase.

Movie is pretty funny.... Thanks for honoring picture request, I'm almost entirely sold on this system... Of course just a few pictures of that screen, because the extra "real estate" would be awsome for Photoshop...

Any pictures you feel like taking that show off your screen would be much appreciated... If you need additional hosting space for pics let me know.

There is another member of these forums who has a CL56 and is expecting 3790 tomorrow, I think. He/She will be able to give you an extensive comparison.

Very much so. I absolutely love the WUXGA screen. However, most of the people who have taken a look at the screen did not like how small it is. Running at different, interpolated resolutions doesn't look bad at all, due to the incredibly small size of the pixels. The processor and hard drive are pretty quick. I'm very satisfied.
