Sager NP3790 Review - Page 2

Will mobmeter run on this laptop? I'd like to see some temperatures when gaming and when not.
mine came in at about $2k with the warranty

I think so. It uses a centrino and I think mobile meter works on that.

Thanks for the review. Is the notebook pretty stable with the 12 call battery installed? From the pictures it looks like it might wobble a bit.

Hey Construct,
thanks for the quick pix. Very much appreciate it.
Just to make sure - does the 12-cell bat raise the laptop i.e. when with the 12-cell in the bay, does tha laptop rest ENTIRELY on the battery or not?
And the 2hrs 20min battery life of the 6-cell you mentioned above, is this when idling or while gaming or watching DVD orsomething like that?
Thanks and it is a great lappy you have there.

sweet. i'm getting mine tomorrow. can't wait... kudos and thanks to Construct for his efforts...

i'll be doing some benchmark of my own that may be of interest to people who use the laptop for number crunching although i get the impression that people are much more into how many "good" frames (as opposed to choppy) they get per second....

only downside is i need to drink a bit more to calm myself down to go to sleep now...

finally, thanks to those who helped me to narrow down my choices. this forum rocks!

What's the case made out of? Does the LCD warp when you press on the back?

Nice Review.... I am actually debating ordering one of these to replace my Desktop right now... I was just waiting for some reviews and impressions...

I have a feeling that this is going to be one popular thread for quite some time.

I might opt for the WXSGA screen on mine. The start button on his screen in those pictures looks awfully small to me....
Too bad he didnt just post it all on the other thread....it would help the longest thread venture.
Don't worry obimattkenobi will. And so far that thread hasn't lost its steam yet.
So I guess according to your benchmarks, the 3790 runs better than the compal rite?
I can't wait till drawmaster gives his review, I want to see the 3790 next to the CL56, so it would tell me to get the 3790 and not the CL56!

Ah. Luke closed the thread. Maybe I should have not used the word countdown in it.

Hrm, has anyone said what the stock clocks are for the MR9700 in the 3790?
A very interesting question. How is that checked with stock drivers. I know its quite easy to check with the omega drivers. I guess you could use powerstrip. But isn't there another way?

3dmark03 tells the clocks in it's results, I think. I don't think it's possible through just windows and the ATI Catalysts. Construct said he did install the Omegas, however.

10 Pages before End of Day Tuesday I'm Sure.... That is of course unless we get a few more reviews, then it will lose a little popularity....
